Dow FilmtecTW30-1812-36 Reverse Osmosis Membrane

The prior reviewer did not do his homework to determine the type of RO Membrane his system required. It is obvious from the pictures this Membrane has a different seal configuration than that of the Watts RO Membrane.This Membrane is a perfect replacement for many RO systems except the Watts Premier and a few others. Just compare your current Membrane to the pictures. Is the large rubber seal in the front or in the rear, and purchase accordingly? I have a 14yr old Ametek Kleen-Plus RO-2127 3-stage system. It has an external Automatic Shut off Valve that shuts off the incoming flow when the pressure in the tank equals the incoming line pressure. So a membrane with an internal check valve is not needed.There are also 2 different material types for membranes 1)TFC-Thin Film Composite and 2)CTA-Cellulose TriacetateThis Membrane is a Thin Film Composite which has a zero chlorine tolerance, and should be used with a Carbon Block filter prior to the membrane to remove the chlorine. I use a 1-Micron Carbon Block Filter for both pre and post membrane cartriges. Best R/O filter I have found. Water comes out crystal clear with no taste. It installs easily and out performs all the other filters I have tried. If you are looking for a great filter, this is it.

I originally had this filter and it worked well for over five years. I replaced it with a GE filter but that lasted less than 2 years. I just bougth this DOW RO filter and it is working like my previous DOW filter. My GE never did work well. Get this and not the GE and you will be as happy as I am. ..

Our reverse osmosis system had been serviced by the company that installed it at a much higher price, obviously, than we could do ourselves. This was our first time changing the membrane, but with a little help from a YouTube video, it was easy to do. We sized up (if you are changing the size of the membrane, get the proper sized flow restrictor, also easy to change with the help of a video) and couldn't be happier with it.

WOW I change the filter , I ordered Watts ( wrongs filter) now this one cleans the water , right now I just put it in and TDS is on 50 and it's keep going down . 0 to 50 is a pure water to drink I prefer something in between like 20 , 25 so it will have some minerals . this is a good filter, it's slow which I don't mind because it filters more when the flow is slow , the pervious filter I had the water never stopped that means it never filtered it . I am very satisfied I will always order filmtec thank you so much.

I love this RO membrane for my Vertec under the sink system. I have well water and this makes my water taste so much better and also makes the water clear and clean. I never worry about drinking my water with this membrane and I am no longer embarrassed to serve my water to anyone because it is the best water in town and has no taste. Our well water has a lot of lime in the water but this filters it out and leaves only the best water you could find anywhere.

I think I got a knock off membrane and not an authentic Dow membrane. This unit has lasted us less than 5 months before it went bad, producing water with a TDS/PPM readings of between 176 - 198! When it was first installed, the reading was about 10, but it has progressively worsened to the point it is essentially tap water coming out of our reverse osmosis system. I've bought membranes from a dedicated RO supplier before, and they last our family 2 - 3 years of solid service before needing to be replaced. This membrane didn't even give us 5 months. I'd recommend finding a better option.
