Barbero Safety Razor No.02 +10 Free Blades

Original review (May 2019): " I have been using my Barbero No. 2 for almost 6 weeks. I have used a variety of blades (Feather, Astra, Super Max, Shark, Wilkinson Black Label, Derby), and have always used a good quality shave gel or cream. Without fail, at every shave, I have gotten a very, very close shave with virtually NO irritation and no nicks. This razor holds the blade at a near-perfect angle for my face and whiskers.For the price of a couple of coffees at the mermaid's place, I've got a well-made shaver that is at least as good as any razor that I have owned. The Barbero Safety Razor No. 02 is an outstanding cutting tool, and it's purchase price provided exceptional value. I recommend it highly."UPDATE (November 2019): For the past 8 months I have gotten consistently excellent shaves with my Barbero No. 02. The fit and finish of the razor is just as shiny and intact as it was when I first unboxed it back in March 2019. I have been so impressed with the performance and value of this razor that I recently ordered a second one to have just in case I lose the original. The Barbero No. 02 is an excellent razor at a more-than-fair price, and after months of almost daily usage, I continue to recommend it very highly.UPDATE (December 2020): 20 months in and still getting great shaves with this Barbero No. 2. The razor's surface is as shiny as it was the day I first used it. It's still the only razor body I can use with Feather blades without shedding blood. Love it!

This razor is well built. The blade exposure and alignment is positive and looks even. The handle seems to be solid metal, which probably won't come apart in two pieces like the plastic handled razor it is replacing. The edge exposure suits me nicely. As far as ratings for beginners and sensitive skin, the uniform blade exposure and alignment make this razor likely as good as any. Beyond that, I would think these areas are more influenced by skin/beard preparation and shaving technique than they are by tiny differences in razor design.

Within two weeks the razor broke

Just received this razor. Can't say how it works yet but it's weighted well and was easy to install a blade. Only 3 stars as it was advertised coming with TWO 5-pack of razors. The one I received only provided ONE 5-pack.I'm hoping this will be better that the transgender-promoting Gillette and Harvey's razors. (Don't care what you "think" you are but I don't need a company shoving make-believe in the consumer's face.)Good price (even without the advertised 10 blades) and should perform well.

This is an EXCELLENT razor! Plus, it came with 10 Derby blades, which give a great, close shave. Handle has very nice texture to it to ensure your fingers won’t slip. Barbero makes some great products! I also use their alum block, which can be found here for under $7, shipped! Razor has a beautiful head that aligns the blade cleanly and accurately. GET THIS! One of the best razor bargains on Amazon!UPDATE: Over a year later, this razor still great!

Wow!! For the price this razor does a great job of shaving my face and head. I will recommend who is new to DE razors that this is the perfect one to start off with.With a good blade in it this razor does a great job of shaving, as it is a smooth razor to use.For the price of this razor you can't beat it!

This is an awesome razor. Things you should know it's a #2 head. It's more aggressive, not super aggressive, but more so. So, it's not the best choice as your first. However, if you have a medium heavy to heavy stubble/ beard profile like I do..it's fantastic. If this is your first venture into de wet shaving,just go slow with it. It does have quite a bit more blade reveal and gap as opposed to my other 3 piece heads. It is , however,one of my favorites.

Bought to replace my husband's broken antique safety razor. I got it because it was an inexpensive replacement while we found another vintage one. It came in a nice box with extra razor blades. The husband says: It's the best razor I have ever used!
