Predictable Plot
Overall Rating 4 Stars-Book Description: 4.5-Cover: 5-Plot: 3.5-Creativity: 3.5-Grammar: 4-Simile Use: 3 (some usage)-Description: 3 (a little overbearing at times)-Show And Tell Balance: 3Another beautiful cover for the Waterfire series, and a good description as well. The beginning of this novel was a bit less shaky than the last. This might have been due to the fact I already had an understanding of the world from the prior novels. As with all novels in series, this one does brief recapping as well. Overall, the plot continued to be interesting. Each of the characters appeared to grow and Sera left a bit of her naivety behind and become a more believable character. I appreciated the way we were able to see each of the mermaids in their own environment, making their own stand. I still feel that Sera continued to make bad decisions despite the fact that others around her were giving her advice. There were two situations that seemed a bit over the top to me, first Sera and Maudi at the farm and then Neela being trapped by her parents. The book was heading towards a five stars, but the ending immediately dropped it down to four stars. It was too transparent, and too much like Harry Potter for my liking. It didn't feel original, and it felt like a cop-out to make the bad character not so obviously who he was. From the beginning I realized it was that person so to add the "Fear me..." part just made me roll my eyes. I'm excited to see where the series is going and I hope that the characters continue to mature. Hopefully, by the characters will be making decisions that make more sense.

Absorbed
The first time I read this book was part of a three-day weekend when I unintentionally read the entire series in a weekend. I thought reading this book again would be slower because I knew the general everything. However, it's so well written that I read this book in 8 hours in one afternoon. Splendid!I love how the characters are challenged. I like that each character faces a different challenge as well as the main one. But Donnelly does an excellent job of making this challenges attainable and believable. And just in two books, I see the characters changing, and I can't wait to see how they all change more (again).

and for that it's a good series. The writing is alright
This book series is written for young girls in middle school who are into mermaids, and for that it's a good series. The writing is alright, not great, but it's easy enough to follow. The author has her mermaids use ocean-specific language and slang throughout the whole book, which adds a cool element of world building but is at times over done (there's only so many times I want to read the phrase "you go, merl!" or "love you merl!" in the span of a few pages). It is kind of fast paced though, considering the topic matter. The mers are covering vast ocean differences in the span of apparently a few days, and events unfold just as quickly one right after the other. At times the tweeny angsty mermaid emotions got so annoying I had to put the book down (ie when they fell in love with other people after knowing them for a few days tops) but the overarching story is good. I bought and read the entire series because the idea behind the books was interesting. If you can get past the occasionally ridiculous words and actions of the main characters, it's a good series.

AMAZING BOOK
Books in series, like most movie series too, usually get worse as they progress but that is definitely not the case for this one!!! Rouge Wave was an incredible book, I read it in a day and a half. I couldn't put it down form the start!!😱 I love to read and I rarely come across good books. At the end of the summer, I finished the Harry Potter book series including the Cursed child and I could put any of those books down either. I didn't expect the Waterford Saga series to live up to the Harry Potter series, but it certainly did!!!😄 I am going to buy the next book in the series IMMEDIATELY!! THIS BOOK IS A MUST HAVE. I highly recommend reading book one, Deep Blue, before "diving" into this one!😀

one of the best sequels I have ever read
First of all, I'd like to say, this book is definitely not for children under-nine, as it contains very scary and vivid descriptions of the dead. However, those over nine will thoroughly enjoy the adventure this book has to offer. I suggest reading Deep Blue first, as I did, otherwise most of the characters here will be unknown to you. Rogue Wave was far more interesting than Deep Blue, but to start with, I thought this would just be like other book sequels; no ideas left at all, just there to make a series and make the first book look good. But perhaps you'd prefer to but this book in paperback, as in Kindle edition, it is hard to flip back to the glossary.Secondly, I found a few faults in this story. I would have liked it more if Mahdi and Yazeed had turned to Traho's side, and I'd liked it more if Blue had shown up, instead of Mahdi being Blue. I found Mahdi's return incredibly irksome, for some reason, as when I read the first book, I got the impression that Mahdi had really changed for the worse. If you don't like Mahdi, don't read the bit about the betrothal, as you'll might just rip your book (or smash your device). Just joking! 😸Overall, I really loved reading Rogue Wave and cannot wait to find out more in Dark Tide! Yes, there is going to be another book!Keep reading! 🐬💎🐳

Great
I'm reviewing this now, at age 19. I read this book a few years ago, I think when I was 15. I really liked the series, and I know I enjoyed this book. To anyone reading this, I recommend Throne of Glass - the first book in my favourite book series.
