Great item
This is a solid item at a great price; utilized cheaper items with bad results. This was easy to assemble. I also used electrical tape around the wires to provide a better install

A great product.
Having a handle attached to this plug end makes this a great product. It's a well thought out, well manufactured/designed product. This plug end was attached to the end of a twenty-five foot SOOW, 10/4 cable to be used as a jumper between an emergency generator and an electrician installed, 50A RV receptor on the side of the house next to the electric service box for easy service disconnect.Plug ends this hefty are hard to pull out, especially if inside an all weather outlet cover box where there's little room to maneuver your hand. With the addition of the handle, the plug end is much easier to remove. This is a good thing. :)The assembly takes a bit of time at the project table as the leads have to be cut and stripped to specific lengths specified in the directions. It's not a difficult task, but it is a bit of a time consuming pain to make sure it's measured and done right. The more care one takes in cutting and stripping the cable wires to well defined direction specs, the more easily the assembly will go.Tip: When assembling the cable strain relief collar, add a dab of latex/siliconized caulk to the inside and outside of the strain relief collar as well as the small gap between the strain relief collar and the plug body. This will help keep snow and water out which will effectively make the plug end more water resistant. Doing so also gives the plug end a more finished look/feel. Warning: Adding the caulk in this fashion won't make the plug-end "waterproof." A cable end of this kind will be used out in the weather and considering the amps this plug-end is designed to push, "more" water resistant is a good thing; peace of mind.I found this product to be the top dog of this group and for those with a "Prime" membership, two-day shipping is included. At current gas prices, this eliminates the need to drive to a RV or hardware store hunting for an item of this kind.

a quality product
I bought the male and female versions of this to serve as a battery disconnect for my removable car battery (this is a project car). I'm reviewing the male and female together and plan to post the same review for both items. They do the job nicely. They are rated 50A and have four pins each. I wired my + and - cables to two pins each using a fairly heavy short jumper cable to reach the 2nd blade. The two heavy blade contacts per cable give excellent current carrying capability.A note re. setting these up. The two screws that hold the cable clamp where it enters/exits the connector are different from the others that hold the two halves of the body shell together. Don't mix them up. The cable clamps are machine screws and the others are basically sheet metal type screws that bite into the plastic material. It's easy to see the difference but working in cramped quarters, I managed to mix them up.These have nice screw clamp connectors inside. One of the two units was missing one of the four small clamps the screw tightens. Rather than ask for a replacement I put a ring terminal on the end of my wire and used the provided screw to make the connection to the ring terminal. Works fine.

Nice Plug
This is a very nice plug, just follow the instructions. I have electrical experience but the instructions are well put together. Tip, once you have all wires cut to length and stripped twist copper conductors tight. Now there is several ways to terminate but this is what I like to do. I form my wires to match the terminals, the closer they are to matching the terminals the easier it is, takes a little patience. Start working your conductors into your terminals, once in lightly tighten down screw, don’t torque it yet you may have to adjust. Someone gave a negative review saying you couldn’t get to the screw on ground terminal because plug is in the way, the terminal blades can be push out of the plug to get to screws, it also helps with terminating, don’t take them all the way out. I found the hardest part was routing the ground wire between the other terminals but after a couple tries it went right in. One other thing I gave it a low rating on weather proof because it’s not a weather proof plug. Hope this helps

Safe
I bought a second one of these several years apart. I've got the cabling size maxed out that it's advertised to accept. Everything about the plug is tough and definitely heavy duty.I recommend these over the cheap knock offs if you're transferring a lot of current.

Works perfectly
Installed on the 50amp cord I bought. Really like the handle on it to plug into the wall outlet for my Backup Generator System.
