As described this kit is for use while checking cam timing/lift with the heads REMOVED from the engine. It works well once you figure it out and comes with everything needed to install on a SB Mopar engine. I used it on an 03 Dodge 5.9L Magnum engine. As a person who has never used one of these, my only gripe is that the instructions do not explain how to use this particular tool. In my case the included instructions explained how to use the other kit (checking lift at the valve spring while the heads are ON the engine). I had to resort to YouTube and Google to figure out how to properly install. What I found is that this fixture is identical (if not made by) to the Proform kit #66830. The difference (besides price) is that the Comp Cams kit includes a degree wheel, and crank turning adapter.

It does what it needs too. It’s very good for the money. It’s a pain to bolt it directly to the crank. I had to make a bushing to center it on the crank. It’s meant to bolt to a harmonic balancer.

Nice accurate degree wheel. I needed a spacer for the center hole since my crank polly bolt was a smaller diameter. But once I got it bolted on it worked great.

3 outer small holes lines right up with my damper. 87 350 MerCruiser vortex engine.
