La Florentine Panettone, Cranberry, 26.5 Ounce

I WOULD RATE THIS PANETTONE A TEN IF ALLOWED TO! I HAVE ORDERED IT MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT! I HAPPENED UPON A NEGATIVE REVIEW BY SOMEONE WHO SAID IT WAS STALE & THEY WERE DISAPPOINTED! I HAD THIS HAPPEN ONCE, BUT ALL I HAD TO DO WAS ALERT THE COMPANY AND EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM. THEY GOT BACK TO ME IMMEDIATELY, AND NOT ONLY APOLOGIZED, BUT WHEN THEY SENT ME THE TWO NEW PANETTONE'S, TO MY SURPRISE AND DELIGHT, THEY HAD ADDED A THIRD TO MAKE AMENDS FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THEY MAY HAVE CAUSED ME!! (THEY ALSO ASKED IF I HAPPENED TO HAVE THE STOCKING NUMBER OF THE FIRST BATCH (WHICH I DID) SO THEY COULD REMOVE ANY BATCHES THAT MAY HAVE GOTTEN MIXED UP! THE POINT IS, MISTAKES DO HAPPEN TO "EVERYONE" ON OCCASION AND IF GIVEN THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT, A GOOD COMPANY LIKE LA FLORENTINE, WILL BE WILLING AND EVEN GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO SATISFY THEIR CUSTOMER'S! I NOT ONLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT, I ALSO HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SELLER!! BY THE WAY, I SLICE THE PANETTONE IN LARGE ROUNDS (AFTER REMOVING THE PAPER BINDING) AND TOAST IT IN MY TOASTER OVEN VERY LIGHTLY, SPREAD WITH SOME BUTTER AND IT'S DELICIOUSLY ENOUGH FOR TWO IF I CAN KEEP MYSELF FROM EATING IT ALL!! LOL IT CERTAINLY DOESN'T LAST LONG IN MY HOME, BUT I CAN ASSURE YOU IT DOES KEEP FRESH IN THE BOX FOR A LONG TIME IF KEPT IN A COOL PLACE. I HOPE YOU WILL ALL ENJOY THIS AS MUCH AS OUR FAMILY DOES!MOST SINCERELY,PICA

I can't speak for everyone else, but the only thing I can think of is the production process may not be very consistent with this company. I bought two boxes, one for myself and one for my family, and both cakes tasted fresh, moist, and had plenty of fruit distributed throughout. The panettone was a big hit with everyone and I will definitely order more in the future. I was worried about how these would arrive considering some of the scathing reviews, but I was relieved to see that they were fine. Great price for high quality, boxed panettone. The only thing is that these are no longer "all butter" as advertised. Amazon needs to update the information on the page. Butter is now far down on the ingredients list and margarine is being used instead - consequently, the taste is a little different and trans fats may be an issue.

This brand is only so-so in my books. The firmness and texture is fine and it is not too dry. However, because my taste buds are very sensitive to preservatives, this brand probably uses ingredients that contain a bit too much preservatives. One bite, and I could tell the preservatives inside. If you have a Whole Foods near you, I suggest you get your panettone from there (store brand). They cost about the same and taste A LOT more natural than this. This brand isn't terrible; it is just you can do better for more or less the same price. I suppose, by spring, when I'm craving panettone and it is out of season, this brand would do just fine. After all, unopened, they do last a while!

I became "addicted" to panettone while stationed in Northern Italy in the 60'sI have tried a great variety of brands over the years. This one is one of the best, It arrives fresh, has good texture and tastes just as panettone should. I have given it only 4 stars because I am disappointed in Amazon's pricing policy. A previous order had qualified for free shipping, this one did not even make it for the prime members list. It came with an outrageous S&H charge which made it non competitive price wise unless you live in a small southern town where you cannot get panettone of any kind except around Christmas. If you live in a major metropolitan area particularly around New York I recommend you check local outlets first.

We really like Panettone and this one is quite tasty. Prompt delivery.We ordered very late and expected that the product might not be the freshest, but ordered anyway.The bread was slightly dry, but if you toast it you don't even notice. We will probably order again this year only earlier.

I was just introduced to Panetone at Xmas -- this seems as good as what I received as a gift. I can buy locally at specialty bakery's for about $24.00 per cake. This, to me is enjoyable & has a decent price. Probably not as good as a Premium bakery made cake -- but taste fine, I rather liked & will be buying again as it is eaten by me & friends. No complaints & everyone so far has said it was different & they liked it. Works for me. Not often you can get good taste with a very nice price.. Have a Happy Mardi Gras :-)

I should have known better than to order a traditional Christmas cake near the end of April. Especially when Amazon said "only one left!" Normally when I buy a Panettone cake, the "use by" date is a few months away. This cake (delivered today) has a use by date of five days away! It is a bit on the dry side. I'm sure it would be delicious if it were a little fresher. The lesson here...order your Panettone cakes closer to Christmas!
