Works great with existing brand plate
I had been gifted the low tech heat it somewhere else branding iron. It took forever to heat and was almost impossible to get it right for the different wood species. The brand part had 8MM threaded hole, so I took a chance and bought just the iron part. It heated up in 4-5 minutes and let off some smoke, it is a metal heating element that came from a manufacturing process, so I was OK with the smell and smoke, it's normal. Worked perfectly after I added a large washer between the iron and brand because there was a 2MM gap. After that it functioned flawlessly. You may or maynot have the gap.

Works well
I absolutely love it! I had to get an adapter but it works perfectly! Definitely recommend this product. It’s built very well, easy to use, and well worth the money.

Buy a $50 transformer for consistent temperature
The FIRST thing you should know about this product is that there is NO WAY TO CONTROL THE TEMPERATURE. This means that if you leave it plugged into an outlet, it will literally heat itself to death. You will end up with a completely meltdown iron and maybe a fire on your hands. Since it just gets hotter and hotter, it's impossible to have a consistent temperature with this thing - unless you buy a transformer (I highly recommend this). This drastically increases its ease of use.In order to achieve temperature consistency, you *must* purchase a transformer with this item. How it works: 1. The iron gets plugged into the transformer. 2. The transformer has a dial that lets you control how much voltage the iron receives (by controlling the voltage, you're controlling how hot the iron it able to get) 3. Tada! You now have an iron with consistent temperature instead of an inevitable fire hazard. I bought my transformer on Amazon (paste this into the search bar: Auto Voltage Transformer AC Variable Voltage Converter Transformer 110VAC Input, 0-130VAC (500W)) It only cost around $50 and it is well worth it!Using this little transformer/iron system, I am able to use this iron on a daily basis, branding 75-100 items each day. The iron does eventually burn out after repeated use after several months so you may end up having to replace it. It really isn't great quality but for $60, it's cheaper than some alternatives out there.

It caught on fire.
I had it plugged in for about 15 minutes and it caught on fire. It was smoking throughout the 15 minutes, but I thought (hoped??) it was normal. No such luck. My return window has passed- so I hope the vendor sees this. Definitely not worth the $70 I paid.

Plug in heat iron (attachment not included)
This is way better than trying to heat up your iron. Just turn on, wait about a half hour till it turn red and ready to go. Every time I use it, it applies perfect application.

Time will tell?
Being a frugal ( cheap) guy I spent a lot of time looking for an electric iron for branding my logo on my furniture builds.Tested Iron and stamp using a variac to regulate current and voltage to gradually break in.Asked about adaptability from regular to electric and it was a go.Need to practice on different species of wood to improve clarity. It worked. Sometimes going the cheaper( less expensive rout takes more time than it is worth. This time it worked!

Don't hesitate,buy now!
Nice iron. It just won't fit my logo since I took the cheap route around and didn't order it from the same company.

One time use
Used it one time and went to stamp several projects and the Arokim Branding iron won’t even turn on. It’s a lot of money for something that doesn’t work
