Excellent bit of kit
Extremely pleased with this, using it with an old integrated amp in DAC mode (just 'cause I like to see the sample rate displayed) with Chromecast Audio and also Bluetooth (LDAC codec) via my Pixel 4a for streaming Amazon Unlimited, Deezer, Tidal and Spotify (we have family accounts on Spotify and currently free trials on two of the others). Particularly impressed with Bluetooth. All worked flawlessly so far. Not used for headphones so can't comment on that. Did use in preamp mode initially and volume control worked fine when tested but as I only use for streaming I control volume from phone apps so limited value for me at the moment and as mentioned, I quickly changed unit to DAC mode so that sample rate is always displayed. Great value, great sound, very pleased.

One of best in price range.
So to give brief overview, I needed amp/dac that will be able to run both speakers and headphones. Speakers are active rokit r7. Headphones: HD600 // Fostex Purplehearts. The sound is very neutral with no emphesis on either frequency, maybe there is little bit raised upper bass with low mid range but aside from that I would call it a flat neutral amp. Previously I had opportunity to use o2 DAC/AMP // CL 200 // Topping MX5 for same setup, so I can vouch that both CL200/MX5 were far from neutrality. The MX3+ pro is much closer to o2 as both have pretty identical power and amp behaviour. Power: This amp will not struggle with most headphones, MX5 and CL200 I had to use in high gain mode for my HD600 to get most out of them (MX5 felt like it had little distortion at high volumes although the sound signature change for hd600 was fun). HD600 with DX3+ pro I can use with default settings. Suprisingly o2 amplifier has by far most power out any of these amps at high gain without distortion. So if you have high resistance headphones or hard to drive ones, consider that amp instead even if its old by now! Overall IMO its the best amp/dac in this price range with all things conisdered features/sound/dac.

Noticeable clarity improvement over FiiO E10K
I have a pair of DT 770 pro 250ohm headphones and I have been running them off of an FiiO E10K for years. I bought the Topping DX3 Pro+ for some active speaks to connect to my TV, and I thought I'd try out the headphone connection. Switching between the two, the Topping DX3 Pro+ was noticeably clearer than my FiiO E10K. I might have to get another one. *edit* Update from 5 to 4 stars since I ran into a ground loop noise issue which I think this product should handle internally instead of relying on a separate iDefender+ USB device. This issue only occurred for me when connecting the DX3 Pro+ to a desktop AM5 B650m (rear IO ports - it'll be worse on the front IO ports). I ran this from a Lenovo L14 laptop without any issues. Using the ifi iDefender+ does resolve this issue for desktops.

Highly versatile and great value for money
Using an old Naim amp on my desk, with limited inputs, I wanted a means to expand the digital inputs, conveniently and inexpensively. The Topping DX3 sounds very good and enjoyable to listen to. There's lots of detail revealed in the music and the headphone output is capable of easily driving my IEM's (AKG N40 / Etymotic ER3) and my Sennheiser HD600's. In comparison with a Chord Mojo, one of my favourite DAC's, the Topping has a slightly harsher, brighter top end and lacks the phenomenal bass quality and sense of insight into the music the Chord DAC offers. The Chord is also better at presenting a musical whole rhythmically, whilst the Topping feels more clinical as if it's dissecting the music, as opposed to presenting it as a musical whole. In isolation though it sounds very good and is enjoyable and not tiring to listen to. It's hard to fault for the money given its versatility. Whilst lossy, the Bluetooth functionality is also excellent supporting LDAC and APT-X modes for good performance with Bluetooth devices. The main benefit to me though is the DX3's incredible versatility and this is where it truly shines - I have a FireTV on my desk connected by Bluetooth, a Chromecast audio via optical, a PC and Mac connected via USB and a Raspberry Pi (with Wolfson sound card) running PiCorePlayer connected via coaxial, all of which can be easily switched between using the remote, or the front panel knob. My biggest criticism is of the limited operating angle of the remote - if you are too far off-axis from the front display, the remote doesn't work, but that's a minor issue. I also like that switching from headphones to line out mutes the output not in use, which means I never need to touch the amp to adjust the volume or mute it for any reason. A well-built product, with great specs, which in many ways perfectly highlights the 'measurement vs. subjective' camps of HiFi.

Even better than the E30
I thought the Topping E30 DAC was great, but this slightly larger DX3 Pro+ blew me away with its detail and musicality. I only bought this so I could listen to CDs on headphones, but I got the added bonuses of a better DAC and a solid Bluetooth link which I can connect my PC or smartphone to wirelessly. There is detail on some tracks that I have never heard before, with an extra 3 to 5 seconds of fading music on the end of some tracks. If you thought your E30 was the last word in digital audio quality, think again.

Only one channel to headphone
Just bought one of these from Amazon.Had it long enough to test.Immediate problem with the 3.5 mm female h/phones input.Only the left channel worked.Tried 3 separate h/phones plus adding an extension cable with 3.5 mm jack.Same problem with all.If I had seen earlier how often other users report this fault I would not have bought it.Funny that all the YT reviewers never mention this..Buy one,you may be lucky, but I am going to look for another brand.

Excellent little amp
What an excellent little device. My HD650 headphones sound amazing, and it is very user friendly. The amp turns off automatically when I unplug my phone. Great quality for the price. I'm loving it!
