Great book for little people with big feelings!
My 3 year old was having difficulty expressing her anger. This book helped her quite a bit, as well as my focus on gentle parenting. We have the other two books in the series too. My daughter loves having her books read to her, and she usually relies on the techniques in them.

Amazing story book
I’m not one to usually take the time to review products due to toddler mom with no extra time, but this book definitely needs a review for all the parents out there trying to raise emotional maturity in the future generations need to by this book .. So I usually read a book by my self to make sure it matches my parenting style before I introduce it to my daughter.. And this book, this book exceeded all of my expectations and more. It’s educational for any level or age. After reading it once I immediately went back and looked up the author and put the rest of her books in my shopping cart. Just wish the price wasn’t so expensive so I’m only going to buy the ones that are on sale right now, but I must book in your children’s book collection.

Helps Temper Tantrums
I ordered this for my daughter & her husband as tools in handling my one grandson's temper tantrums. It's a well written book which helps to give them the tools in addressing how to handle his anger when he doesn't get his way. I was amazed that the examples I had already used on my own child many years ago. It really works if you use patience and love and you are consistent. It also addresses the child's feelings and what to do with them. Really great book!

Good info. Very wordy would not recommend for toddlers.
The book has some nice information regarding managing anger. However, it is very wordy and my toddlers do not have the focus to follow it past a sentence or two per page. The illustrations while being brightly colored are mostly angry faces, which I found to be a bit scary for my toddlers. My 6 year old doesn’t mind the book and really likes lava so the volcano peaked his attention a bit. Unfortunately this book did not become a quick favorite. Wish the illustrations told more of a story and that the words were simplified. My biggest issue with many of the positive/gentle parenting scripts is they are too wordy. I have 4 kids and all of them (before developing a sense of reasoning at the age of 5/6) hear/heard nothing after the first 3-5 words I speak/spoke.

kept their attention
This book was fairly well written, read this to a 7 & 5 yr olds, they interacted with the story as I read it, then a week later I asked several questions about the story and their recall was spot on!! Great job at keeping the kids interested in the story.

Swift Changes
Reading this book to my “deep feeling” 5yr old gave her the visual she needed. She was able to understand the advice given on how to keep your volcano from erupting and started to use them right away. She went from multiple “eruptions” a day to not having another eruption for a week and a half. She’s still working on her calming skills but it seems like my daughter feels seen and understood because she can completely relate to the kids in the book. I reread the book to her last night and will continue to read her this book as a reminder. I wish all teachers would have not only this book but the series so that they could know how to handle mall of the deep feeling children they will encounter. This book would even benefit teens and adults.

Great lesson in a East to digest wrapper for kids
Great lesson in a East to digest wrapper for kids. We just read this book for the first time with our almost 6yo. She was engaged throughout the book. It helped that we also brought up examples of her acting angry and doing the things the book brought up. She even wanted to practice the steps right away. I don't know if you'll have a similar experience but I highly recommend this book and going to buy the others in this series.

Similar to all other anger books
It was a bit hyped up and when I got through it with my 4 year old, I realized it was just like many other books about self regulation/anger… BREATHING. Haha breathing is ALWAYS the answer, (it does also mention walking away and exercise which was cool) I was hoping for something with various instances of what causes anger and how to deal with it, but this book hones in on “Lava Levels” and no real specific instances. There’s a girl with a cupcake that apparently is making him super angry, I had to just go on a tangent with my son about sharing and how he THINKS she should share but you don’t necessarily have to share snacks (especially a cupcake because it’s a little awkward for a kid to share without a knife and good dexterity) and another tangent about what teasing is (although it doesn’t LOOK like she’s teasing him). So basically I’m not sure what’s going on with the cupcake! Haha Overall average to above average anger book.

Incredible book!
The media could not be loaded. Worked so well with helping my 4 year old understand his anger and tips to get through it as well.
