PinsparkWomen's Hiking Pants Light Khaki

I admit I missed the "lightweight" part of the description but I would not classify these as hiking pants - I'm wearing them as I type this review. The fabric is along the line of extremely lightweight running shorts. Instead, I would certainly classifiy them as running/excercise/workout pants. They actually look very dressy per hubby. I don't believe that these would hold up to any brambles or branches catching on the fabric - something that I would expect if a person who was actually hiking through wooded area or "back country" area to encounter. I can see where they would dry quickly, and be comfortable for running, going to an amusement park, etc., and the SPF 50 rating (if accurate) in a nice benefit The SPF rating was what really caught my attention. Definitely a warm/hot weather article of clothing. Current temp is 65 and I'm a little chilled . They are very comfortable and I like the wider leg, as I am not a thin person. The pants arrived, appeared to be vaccumed pack in the bag, which was a surprise, and extremely wrinkled when removed. I washed on a delicate cycle and dried them in the dryer on delicate/air with other items. Pictures 4 (with the cat) & 5 are after being in the dryer and then hanging to finish drying. I do not expect any hiking clothes to have IRONING instructions on the care label! And the wrinkles did not wash out nor seem to decrease with hanging to finish drying. These would roll or fold to a very small item but unless you plan on ironing, I expect they would be a wrinkled mess when unpacked. Maybe with wear and additional washings, the wrinkle aspect may everntually decrease and not be an issue but that will be a wait and see. I'm in the middle on recommendation- I think it really depends on what situations you are planning on wearning the pants. Hiking - no. Running/jogging/ walking around - by all means. Fit is not an issue and that is where I have lots of problems. An XL fits wonderfully. I was hoping to pack these on a upcoming trip but will be wearing them around the house to see if after wearing/washing/drying, the wrinkles come out. I am not planning on ironing these pants at all. If the wrinkles continue, they will not be getting packed. Sad, since that was my plan. I will try to remember to update.
