Crochet Style: Over 30 Trendy, Classic and Sporty Accessories for All Ages

I don't write a lot of reviews- only for the items that I strongly feel are a great value. I am so glad I purchased this book. I have bought many (over 80) patterns/tutorials online on Etsy/Craftsy as I make caps, headbands and cowls to sell to raise money to buy coats for those in need each winter. Those patterns cost around $5 each, so in comparison, this book is a great value price wise. In the past year alone I have made 100 caps of various styles and in the past 3 years over 250 caps, so I think I am a pretty good judge of cap patterns. I was hesitant to buy this book because I thought there might not be anything new in it that I haven't already tried, or that it would be harder to work out of a pattern book versus working from a single pattern. I was really pleasantly surprised when I saw how many neat patterns there were. I think I will actually make everything in this book. Many are unisex which is nice because there aren't as many good mens/boys cap patterns out there I've found. The true test is actually making something from the book and I did already make two caps that turned out great. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to make some very modern, yet classic caps, headbands, cowls, mittens and boot cuffs. The patterns are well written and the end product if you follow the pattern, is something that anyone would be proud to wear. The attached photo is of a headband made from a pattern that is in the book, worn by the friend I made it for who works outdoors on a farm.

I’m in love with the beautiful variety of crochet patterns in this book! She has patterns for beautiful hats, blankets, baby gifts, baby photo props, etc. Even patterns for adult sized hats! I own a small shop and I’ve been looking to expand my product inventory. Jennifer specifically states in her book that you will find many different items that any crocheter can make and sell in their home-based business caught my attention immediately. I’m hoping she is not done writing pattern books and cannot wait for the next one! If you’re an avid crocheter, I definitely suggest you buy this book!

They designs are challenging but it is good to learn something new and our group, called Holy Cafters, is making hats to put in our country fair in August. After the Fair they will be distributed where needed- so using our skills to create something is also helping others.

Another amazing book! I have bought a few crochet books so far and I'm so happy with my purchase. This book is another winner. I love the quality of the pages, the pictures, the illustrations. The models are amazing. I also love the fact that this book contains so many styles of hats, scarfs, cowls, fingerless mittens etc. that the book offers. Haven't tried any of the patterns yet but upon looking at them they look very easy to follow. This is a must have book. So glad to own it. Money well worth spent.

This has been a great resource, I love that every pattern contains sizes from baby to large adult, some even have sizes starting at newborn! The book contains patterns from beginner to advanced, but is not skewed too heavily to either end of the spectrum, there are plenty of good projects for an advanced beginner- intermediate crocheter. It's also very good about letting you know which patterns require you to have a specific gauge, and which you can crochet to measurement for the impatient among us who may not always want to make a test swatch. All abbreviations and terms are clearly laid out at the beginning of every pattern and there is an accompanying glossary in the back. Best of all everything in this book is a lovely practical project that I want to make! This is better than many books that you may buy that have just 3 or 4 patterns in it that you really want to use.

This book could be new for all I know. But looking at the outside, the corners pushed in and a scratch on the front and a crushed binding it does not look that way! Kinda disappointed!!

This crochet book, for me, is awesome! Why? Jennifer Dougherty has made it easy by manipulating the pattern sizes ranging from baby/child to large adult for most every pattern in this book of textured patterns. Although most patterns read as intermediate I would say a strong beginner could manipulate the patterns with a little patience. All the info is here you need with no extra frillsand I like that. The seam closing technique is cool and leaves no gap at all. Thank you for such an insightful book and thoughtful patterns.

I liked the easy to follow directions. I have crocheted a couple of the projects and find they are accurate as long as you match the needle size and recommended wool weights. My husband loves his crocheted wool hat and wore it all winter.

A wonderful book by a wonderful designer. Pattern is well set out and you can use Stylecraft chunky or aran in place of her wool choices here in the U.K depending on what yarn is in the design. If you work a gauge piece your items will come out fitting brilliantly every time. Well worth the money for all the patterns you get.
