I bought this strap for a trip to Utah, and soon thereafter hiked 6 miles with my Nikon FM2 attached. The FM2 is a light film SLR, but the lens attached to it was a somewhat weighty Nikkor 70-300mm f4.5-5.6D ED, and I at no point felt like it would fall off. More recently, I hiked two miles with a Nikon F4 (which weighs almost three pounds), and the same lens. The strap held the camera firmly and safely. Even with the combined weight of the F4 and lens being close to 4 lbs, the strap was comfortable, and didn't cut into my shoulder. I am a short guy, and the strap works well for me, but my father has the same one for a Nikon DSLR and it is a good length for him as well. All in all, this strap is perfect for all of one's needs.

A very good and practical hand strap at a very affordable price. Let me explain why. First it is made of real cowhide, I can smell it right from the package. there were stitching which acts as reinforcement throughout the whole length of the strap. The double return type of buckle will hold the camera weight well to prevent loosening. This hand strap is about 15 mm wide and the under layer is covered with velvet. It is soft and very comfortable for camera to lug on my wrist. Best of all it comes with 2 retainers that one can slide it up the strap to prevent the strap from slipping out of the wrist. As you will notice that the strap is quite wide, so it is necessary to buy a QD mini loop attachment before using this strap on some point and shoot camera as the eyelets on these cameras may be too small to fit the strap

I ordered this strap at the same time I ordered my new Nikon D40 kit that includes a telephoto lens. I did not know the camera came with a strap as the specs did not indicate that. This is a nice wide sturdy strap, but I do not need it as it is just like the one that came with my camera. In addition to that Santa is bringing me a harness device called the Cotton Carrier for me to carry my camera around in when I am out and about taking photos. Since it has a housing I think I will have to take the strap off. But I am keeping my options open since I do not know if I will like this harness system or not. But the video I watched on the site with the same name looked very cool. If you need a strap for your camera I would recommend this strap.

To prevent accidental damage of camera hitting a hard surface

I bought this neck strap to replace my D750 original equipment neck strap which is thin and has sharp edges. The new one is the same one used on much less costly Nikon DSLR's and it simply feels better on my neck and when I use the camera hand held, it conforms to my hand when I wrap it around.

I have two major SLR digital cameras, a Nikon D5000 and a Canon t2i plus I have a Nikon film camera, F-100 and this one already has the same strap on it. I have a wide strap on the Canon and then I put on on the 5000 too. May as well match them all. Good strap. I wrap it onto myself over my other shoulder and not my neck so nobody pulls on my straps. I don't need a wrist strap getting in my way. This is the best.

The strap is Nikon ans Nikon quality. There is nothing in the description that gives the width. With a heavy telephoto lens I needed something wider than the standard Nikon strap. After sending in an inquiry i received feedback the strap was 3" wide so I ordered one. Once I received it I found it to be 1 1/2" wide just like to one that came with the camera. People should be truthful when posting responses to questions about these products.

Cette courroie est idéale pour mon Nikon F3. Par curiosité, après avoir lu le commentaire d'un acquéreur précédent, je l'ai comparée avec celle équipant d'origine mon Nikon Df : elle n'est ni plus étroite ni plus large ; elle est de la même longueur, idéale pour suspendre l'appareil autour du cou (oui, je sais, à l'ancienne, mais je suis ancien).Maintenant, convient-elle à un appareil du genre D800 qui, sans objectif, accuse ses 980 grammes ? Sans doute, mais je ne peux comparer, le F3 et le Df étant des poids-plume.Bon, elle est plus chère que les "no-name", mais ce n'est pas le bout du monde.
