RACE FOR TOMORROW: Survival, Innovation and Profit on the Front Lines of the Climate Crisis

A must read book on climate change, the truth and the opportunities.
Simon Mundy’s super book as he covers the “greatest story” for his generation of journalists, as he calls it.The book is a collection of stories: - of the havoc that climate change is wreaking across our planet; the book is not something esoteric that scientists and climate change activists are taking about, but about everyday lives of people like you and me, from the sky rises in one country to the slums and favelas of another, and often in the same country.- of the opportunities it is creating for many. Yes, there are individuals who are benefitting.- of different approaches and scientific efforts to tackle the challenges. From putting mammoths in Siberia to fusion reactors to generate energy to capturing carbon directly from air and then using it for a variety of things, including producing limestone! It is a fascinating book and breathtaking in its scope. I envy Simon for having had the luxury and passion to take the time off - 4 years - to travel and chronicle these stories in a manner that is neither pedantic nor esoteric, and easily understandable by common people. The reader is not overwhelmed by numbers or scientific jargon, although it is clear that Simon has studied a lot of research papers and literature as he embarked on this project. While there is a lot to be concerned about and in some ways the train has left the station, it is also time to renew our faith in science, human endeavour and human ingenuity.Enough said. I cannot do justice to the stories told here or his work in a few sentences. Go ahead and read it. Thank you, Simon.

Great diverse short stories on climate change
To read a.book.about climate change seems kinda boring but not when it is broken down into real life negative effects of what are the consequences of what we are doing today. Does not read as depressing but rather invigorating.

Une plongée dans ce qui est en train de façonner notre avenir
Remarquable panorama de la « ligne de front » de l’action climatique.

not politically biased like so many other books - very well written
As all books on topics related to this book, the variables involved are very complex and multi-faceted - as are the evaluating/ranking/prioritizing and implementing of best possible solutions - since the people of the world live (and have lived) in very different ways and under very different conditions for very long periods of time. There is also the extremely complex problem or trying to integrate "human nature" (both biologically and culturally influenced) into possible solutions that might have more or less likelihood of success. Good read.
