CREATIVE Sound Blaster Audigy Fx V2 Upgradable Hi-res Internal PCI-e Sound Card with 5.1 Discrete and Virtual Surround, Scout Mode, SmartComms Kit for PC

The first separate soundcard I've had in a good few years but I am pleased I made the jump. Very small form factor. Easily slotted in to a spare PCI-e slot without obstructing my graphics card. I installed the software first, put the card in and then fired up. One cycle of driver install and reboot and it's working perfectly. Previously I'd been using the onboard Realtek audio on my motherboard and it was OK. However the improvement in sound quality is very noticeable, whether for spoken word, music, video calls or gaming. The top end is much more sharply defined and (depending on the equaliser settings) there is a LOT more bass. Definitely a five star purchase and a snip in the sale.

Creative make great cards and this is no exception however it seems to compete poorly with any other software or hardware dealing with audio as I had to disable and uninstall to get this to be recognised and working. When it did, smooth silky sounds galore and loads of configuration options.

I bought this to power my 50 ohm Sennheiser headphones. Does a great job for the price. Very happy with the sound. Easy to install and no software problems getting it working.

I brought this to resolve a windows 11 support issue as my on board sound chip was no longer supported. This card came quickly and did work straight out of the box. I visited the soundblaster website to get the official drivers and software to expand on the features I was expecting.. if you do get this card, be mindful that if people mention echo on teams calls, disable the crystal sound, surround sound and the clarity features on the control panel to remove that echo and then switch them back on once done... the quality of the 5.1 is more than good enough unless you have a full range set of speakers... then I found small mixed harmonics that got progressively worse the more you use the clarity and crystal features to boost vocals... if your setup is just desktop speaker, this card more than delivers compared to onboard sound cards every time

Bought this soundcard because the integrated sound chip on my motherboard wasn't the best. Installation was easy and after booting up my PC and testing the sound there was no audible noise or electronic interference from the motherboard or surrounding components. Sound is crisp and clear and the software provides lots of options to tune and tweak your output sound for your desired use case. A lot of people argue about sound cards vs external DACs + amps. An external DAC + amp setup is technically better than a sound card, but that is only noticeable on setups that cost several times more than what most people can reasonably afford. For my own purposes and the purposes of most other people that just want to listen to music, play games and watch movies, this sound card is fantastic.
