Gotcha you wascally wabbit!
I’m actually more familiar with leg hold traps than snares. But I have used them in the past and I have caught a few squirrels and one rabbit. They’re a very simple yet efficient method of trapping. Which is exactly what you want in a survival situation. They’re also small and portable. Which means there’s a better chance you might actually have them on you when you need them. This is a pretty nice little kit that you can just tuck into a pocket of your pack. Perfect for the emergency situation you think will never happen. I strongly suggest that you practice at least setting them before the time comes when you really need them.A little pricey but you’re paying for the convenience of having it in a nice little kit. I think having one of these in every one of your packs is a smart idea.Strongly recommendThanks for reading

snare kit very usefull tool
It would appear that a pocket survival snare kit is pretty useless, that is until you're lost and hungry. This kit has three well made snares and anchors. There's even a diagram on their use and also animal tracks. If you go out and about where you might need these, just toss the little tin in your gear. If you don't know how to use a snare, it's easy to learn, and a fresh rabbit or squirrel is damn good grub.

3 decent snares
I've never owned, made or used a snare before, so I don't have much to compare these to. They seem well-constructed, even if the wire seems a tad on the thick side for smaller game. I don't know, though. Just guessing.I bought these to put in the survival kit I carry when remote hiking. Comes with no real instructions other than a card with track identification on one side, and a chart showing suggested snare heights by game size. These are apparently geared toward smaller game like squirrels, mink and rabbits. Also comes with a longer, thinner wire which I assume is used to secure the snare to it's anchor.Besides no instructions, I am also a bit miffed by the misleading photograph showing more than what comes in the package. Three snares, anchor wire and a tin box the size of an Altoids box. No two boxes, no multiple information cards, etc. Not that I care a lot. I just wanted you to know that you won't get everything pictured. Seems a bit misleading to me.

Good size for small game
Snares are OK. Good size for small game. The hole in the lock seem to be a little large for the snares to lock properly. I do believe they will still work.My last thoughts, they are a little overpriced for what you are receiving.

Needs improvement
The snares themselves seem to be sturdy enough it’s the so called instructions and other cards in the package they’re just pieces of paper not laminated or anything the instructions don’t tell you anything I’d buy just the snares next time I thought this little kit would be a fun novelty but it’s very disappointing

I made this purchase against future needs...
and don't think anyone can have any kind of opinion about a purchase unless given time to use and to consider the benefits of having said purchase in their possession long enough to be able to gauge whether that purchase is worth the price. I got this 2 weeks ago. 3 is neutral.

Superb product!
Very verstile, adequate length snares. They come with sturdy plastic that allows the noose to pull smoothly and with minimal effort these snares can be set. For best use, set at head height of the animal you want to catch. And check local law as to the legality of setting these. Many places allow then for survival use.

Well made and a good price
Well made and sturdy snares, much better than anything I could make myself. A good addition to any survival kit. The only issue is the sketchy directions, which the manufacturer clarified in a follow-up communication.
