When putting it together I noted how there were 4 bolts on each end of a joined pillar/brace (8) and 2 sets (1 on another side). So 16 total. I felt like that was a very sturdy design when another company could have just done it with 2 on each end/sets.Directions were clear for nearly all the parts except for a couple of spots where it was tough to see which side of the piece to use and which direction the fabric was supposed to lay when done. I eventually figured it out. I'm sure another person could have easily breezed through that.In the middle of putting it together, I did find a wrong piece had been included in the kit. I e-mailed customer service and they were very helpful in getting the piece fedex'd to me. Appreciate the quick response and result!

Beautiful, perfect for shade or beautiful night sky since It is fully retractable. It was pretty easy to build. Customer service at Purple Leaf is A+. Very satisfied with our purchase.

The top is difficult to keep closed. Slightest wind moves it. We had to develop a way to secure it ourselves. It should have a clip system or something to secure it.

PROS: nice paint job on metalCONS: 64 bolts to assemble ONE BRACE. It has taken my PROFESSIONAL 3-1/2 hours to assemble two supports. TWO. And I ordered three of these. So the $1,600 I paid for the 3 units will cost no less than 11-1/2 hours JUST TO PUT THEM TOGETHER! That does not include installation. I have been offered a deal at $25/hour.They are so lightweight that there is no way they would stay put in even a slight wind. I at 72 years age and 129# can easily lift them. They would need to be anchored into cement or taken down whenever a storm was forecast. And forget taking them down with all the bolts installed!RESOLUTION: My contractor is going to build a wooden structure using some of the rails and tops from the sets. This will cost me less than $1,000 with materials and labor - plus the $1,600 I paid for these 3 sets.

Love my new pergola. Took a little time to put up. But sooooo…. Worth it. Took the online suggestion to put the top togather first and it was the best .

You definitely need 4 people to put up the frame. It is very flimsy even when bolted down to the patio. It didn’t come with corner brackets so we had to make our own to make it sturdier. I thought this was a good brand, very disappointed with the quality.

This is NOT worth the money. So upset that we bought this. It is not worth the money at all. It was NOT easy to assemble. It took us over 5 hours and was NOT easy at all. The instructions were terrible. Just not loving it and we spent a lot on it. Jus to not worth it and if we could send it back we would.
