Product description FLEETWOOD MAC FLEETWOOD MAC .com With the "classic" Fleetwood Mac and departed guitarists Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer a fading memory, namesakes and rhythm section Mick Fleetwood (drums) and John McVie (bass), along with second generation survivor Christine McVie (vocals, keyboards), let go of their British blues heritage and linked with a failed Californian pop-rock duo, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. That move, born of desperation, yields this 1975 classic: unveiling a taut, well-oiled pop rock band boasting three distinctive singers and songwriters in Buckingham, Nicks, and Christine McVie; Buckingham's extraordinary arrangements and versatile acoustic and electric guitars; and the undeniable horsepower of the founding fathers' rock-solid rhythm work. Buckingham's rave-ups, Nicks's sultry rock ballads, and Christine McVie's soulful, sunny pop form the template for Rumours, which would follow two years later. --Sam Sutherland

~ Fleetwood Mac's '75 gem gets a Deluxe treatment with 5 extra tracks ~
Here we are, 1975, a time of change, certainly for the longtime group known as Fleetwood Mac. I was 9 when this album was out and my older brother had it on his record player one day. I listened to several songs, notably the radio hits that were in rotation on the local rock station here in S. Ca. With that, came my familiarity of the band from that day forward. Mind you, I didn't have the $ to dish out on records at the time, but I didn't have to when my brother was around. This album is a great Fleetwood Mac album and sounds even better remastered here with extra tracks! I love it even more than before. So, with this "Deluxe Edition" trend hitting several artists/bands within the last decade or recent years, I had to pick this one up and was pleasantly amazed all over again. The treatment given to this record is very nice, a great edition that has very little or no hiss at all, whereas before, the first pressing of CDs in the age of the '80s had varying degrees of sloppiness. That is definitely the term I would use to describe some of them, since technology was just coming along to get as close to the original sound of the master used in recording as possible.I was never a huge fan of cassette tapes, only the fact that they were portable now and we could listen to them in the car or a boombox with big speakers we could carry around with us.I have to say this is an improvement over the previous releases of this album on CD. Put on your headphones and put this baby in the CD player/adjust your equalizer if you must, and enjoy the melodies of one of the best rock groups to come out of the '70s!!The addition of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham to the group added something extra special. You have the original lineup of songs from the album here, plus some extra tracks and two previously unreleased songs.Highly recommended for any Fleetwood Mac fan and fans of Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie.~ 16 Tracks, total running time 62.25

Christine McVie Shines on This Re-release!
I've been playing last year's "Lindsey Buckingham / Christine McVie" pretty much non-stop since it came out. Seeing Buckingham McVie on their tour just made me want more from them. This new, deluxe version of 1975's "Fleetwood Mac" delivers! This was worth the price just for the early versions of Ms. McVie's "Over My Head", "Say You Love Me" and "Sugar Daddy". Her duet with Mr. Buckingham, "World Turning" is dynamite in its early take. The live songs are sheer delight. I'm thrilled to have these versions of "Station Man", "Spare Me A Little Of Your Love". "Why" and "Hypnotized" with Mr. Buckingham and Ms. Nicks in the fold. How awesome would it be if Fleetwood Mac played these four songs on their upcoming 2018 tour?

Second disk not nice - just buy the standard issue
I picked up the Tusk expanded collection wherein Lindsay brilliantly strips all the overdubs off the songs and presents a clean disk of the double album that is relevatory. Forgot that on this, his and Stevie’s debut, there were it seems few overdubs by comparison. So the second disk here are demos and they are not nice - go for Tiek absolutely but for this one, just the studio. cD of this brilliant album is of use.

Get on down the line...
While I may not be the biggest Fleetwood Mac fan in the world, there is no denying the quality of the records they made in the mid to late `70s. Although not a debut in the true sense of the term, their self-titled 1975 LP was by a brand new lineup and heralded a dramatic change in the band's fortunes. The story of this famous collaboration between California folkies and English blues veterans does not need repeating here but I'll just say that I've always loved "Monday Morning" while "World Turning", "Blue Letter" and "Over My Head" really grew on me. Never really cared for the other big hits on the LP but their reputations as classic rock staples are beyond dispute. I think the true mark of a classic album is that several songs that are not the big, overplayed hits or grab the casual listener as much as the long-time fan are the ones that make the record more memorable to more people. `Fleetwood Mac' though greatly overshadowed by the massive success of its successor is still a great album in its own right and created a true seventies super group out of the almost cult following that a veteran British blues band once had.

Great service
Vinyl sounds amazing considering how old it is. It is in great condition! Only reason I gave it a 4 is because how long it took to get to me. Two months and I do understand that most of the blame is probably the mailing company.Thank you again for the vinyl my wife adores it!

One of The Best Albums Ever Made
I was listening to this when I was a teenager in the 70's and it's still one of the best albums ever created. Same for their next album Rumors. This band is one of a kind, and no one will ever match their vocals and beautiful music. Sad Lindsey is no longer with them...

IT
In 1974 Mick Fleetwood was looking for a cheap studio in which his band could record their next album, it was a difficult time for the band who had been struggling since leader Peter Green had suddenly left the band. To demonstrate the sound of the studio the engineer put on an album by a duo called Buckingham and Nicks for Fleetwood it was a eureka moment he knew he had found a new guitarist for the band [Lindsey Buckingham] what he didn't realise was that he was also getting another vocalist [ Stevie Nicks].This album was the result of that visit to find a studio, although overshadowed by the commercial behemoth that was Rumours this album has much to recommend it there is of course Stevie Nicks' wonderful Rhiannon and Christine Mc Vie rising to the challenge of two new songwriters joining the band with what is my favourite track on the album Say You Love Me, I also enjoyed Landslide but what you can hear on this album is how quickly the band found its groove how Mick Fleetwood and John Mc Vie telepathic rhythm section lock in with Buckingham and Nicks to produce the sound of this version of Fleetwood Mac. It should be noted that this was not the first album to be called Fleetwood Mac Peter Greens version of the band also produced an excellent album called Fleetwood Mac although that is a far more blues based album. Peter Green had a name for what Fleetwood found in that studio in 1974, he described what it was as IT!!.

Only 99 percent...
Music absolutely wonderful (well, what else would you expect from a devoted fan of, er-hum, years?), but I wouldn't go quite that far with the sound transfers, which - to my ear - leave a bit to be desired.

If you own Rumours buy this. If you don't buy both! Now!
First Fleetwood Mac album with the classic line up with Christine and Stevie on vocals. Many pointers here the the brilliance to follow in Rumours. Some really beautiful songs in here including the all time classic Rhiannon. Probably my second favourite Fleetwood Mac after Rumours. Buy them both and remember when music had real heart and soul and passion.
