It seems it's especially important to have a clean surface for PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive) glues to work, so I wiped the damaged area well with alcohol the day before I used these patches. On the first repair, I centered the patch as well as I could on the inside toe area and took my time pressing it to get a good bond. After my walk, I did the second shoe differently. With a scissors, I cut the paper around one patch, then holding a nickel with my thumb, I cut around the nickel to make a smaller circular patch. I then peeled a second patch off, centered the nickel size patch paper side up and stuck it to the larger patch. I flipped this double patch over onto the paper and pushed a sewing pin through the center. I then removed both papers and using a hand on the inside and outside of the toe area, I was able to perfectly center the double patch, press it place and remove the (positioning) pin.Otherwise, the glue and fabric seems to be exceptional. I made the double patch this way to make it last longer and keep it thin on the edge so it would be less likely to snag and get pulled off.

Works really good. I used one full patch on the inside and cut a piece roughly the shape of the hole and used it on the outside and, while you can notice it if you look for it, I doubt anyone would notice it from a distance. This is allowing me to use otherwise good shoes for a while longer.

Well, since my husband keeps buying them they definitely work. As with anything, sometimes the adhesive can wear off. That’s what happened to the last one. If you need something like this, definitely give these a try.

These are now in all my fabrics shoes. Had a shoe with toe hole, used one that matched the shoe color and it has worked perfectly ever since. They are very sticky and adhere well. Highly recommend.

I rip every pair of sneakers the same way. I don't know how exactly, it's just how I walk. These patches were perfect. I fixed a bunch of sneakers that either had holes, started to look like they might start forming holes, or ones that I wanted to prevent holes.I have been using them for a while now and they have worked great. Saved a few pairs of sneakers that otherwise would have been in the trash by now.

As a preemptive protection of a shoe upper from rubbing through, these patches work decently because the toes are constantly pressing them into the inside of the shoe upper. But you would need to know ahead of time that your shoe might have this issue. On the outside of the shoe, however, they do require glue or other adhesive for the best results. This kind of defeats the purpose. You could use any repair material and the glue.
