Ingres: 102 Drawings

I am so pleased I purchased this ebook. The quality of each drawing is excellent. I use an iPad and just tap on a drawing to switch it to its proper perspective; then the picture can be enlarged. It can also be moved around to get a closer look at a particular part of a drawing. This format is an excellent way to study these magnificent works of art.

Unfortunately, the image quality is too poor to enjoy Ingres' drawings.

Unfortunately, the reproductions are too small and faint. The pencil drawings were printed too light, and there are many that are too small--the size of playing cards. Some are nearly as small as business cards. For the delicacy and intricacy of Ingres' work, this is inappropriate. If the publishing company couldn't afford to print each drawing on a separate page, they should have printed fewer drawings--and had each drawing be as large as possible. I am disappointed and sending it back.

１０８点のアングルのドローイングが掲載されている。全身・半身・身体の各パーツの部分が見事に描き出している。アングルは婦人像が素晴らしいが、ヴァイオリニストのニコロ・パガニーニを描いた作品もあるが、正面なので有名な鼻の高さも強調されてない。凄い眼と手を持った画家である。肖像画のデッサンだけで生活した時期もあったと言われる。
