I needed a butter dish that the cats couldn’t push the lid off of to have a buttery snack. This fits that bill well and has other nice features to boot. The top handle is easy to hold, the blue is such a pretty color and the scooped edges make it easier to get the butter onto the knife.

We buy whatever butter is on sale, and sometimes that means long sticks and sometimes it means short sticks of butter. I got tired of cutting the long sticks in half to fit my current butter dish, so purchased this one. I specifically wanted a glass or porcelain dish that did not have a knife with it. I also did not want any cutie motif like cows or “butter, written across it. This fit the bill.This dish does exactly what it needs to do. The end tabs are bonus, as they hold the butter in place as you try to get some out of the dish without making a mess. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the raised lines on the bottom of the dish, but they actually work really well to keep the butter in place. Plus, it’s a reminder of how much butter you’re really using, although I would not depend on it as an accurate measurement.The dishes, dishwasher safe. The simple, clean design goes with just about any decor or table top. There are no plastics. The price is fair for the product received. What more could you ask for?

Is a nice butter dish with an actual mindful design to it! (Who would've thought?) The ridges do actually hold the butter, the raised ends are actually helpful, and is easier to get to the butter with a knife. Seems silly to comment on a butter dish design but this one actually does make a difference.

The media could not be loaded. I like this butter dish... Classic good look, grooves to keep butter in the center and not get bumped by the lid. Fits a Canadian quarter of butter block.Not sure if it came chipped & didn't notice or chipped immediately upon use. But its not sharp and seems like it will still keep clean so I deducted only 1 star.

I was looking to replace a smaller butter dish and was delighted to find this one as it had the type shape and style I was looking for (country, pretty and similar to my old one).However, the description listed it as working with eastern or western butter. While that’s perhaps true for the width and length…it turns out I can’t put the lid over a fresh block of west coast butter, which was fairly disappointing.
