Great connection and material ....

I could not figure out how to get my standard sized instrument cable through the spring! I'm sure there is a neat way to do this that everyone in the world knows. But, it is not intuitively obvious and I could not find instructions. So, I removed the spring. I put a piece of 1/2" heat shrink over the barrel and then inserted my cable. I soldered my cable and screwed the connector together. Then, I used the flame of a small match to reduce the heat shrink so that it fit the barrel AND the cable tightly. The result was a very good connector where a tug on the cable doesn't put so much tension on the soldered points. So, in the end, this worked out fine...less one spring.

These are actually pretty decent. Better than a store bought, manufactured coupler. I bought these to give my headphones some reach when I'm producing music. I make my own cables, so this was a cinch to put together. However, you have to watch them after a while because the sleeve can begin to unscrew from the insert.

Don't buy this! I used four to make a DB25 to four headphone breakout, and none of my 1/4" headphones actually sit snugly inside the barrel. The barrel is made too wide, with the prongs too loose, and the TRS male end can move significantly while fully inserted resulting in an intermittent connection. These were a waste of an hour of my time.

I was not expecting too much when I ordered this, but MAN. These are made VERY cheaply. No wonder why they give you four in a pack. Guess what! You get four cheaply made female connectors that, even when soldered correctly, have severe connectivity issues. Go Switchcraft or go home I guess.

Well made, perfect for abusive environs.Easy to solder, should last decades.

These are very light weight,not alot of beef here.if you're looking for heavy duty l,these are not it.the solder points inside are flimsy,casing is foil like.they carry a signal,too cheap to send back.
