We are a distributor of the S5 clamp system but all we sell on Amazon is the model number S5S, which is not appropriate for your application. We suggest you visit the S5 website because you’ll be able to find the appropriate clamp.

Q: World I be able to bolt 1/4" flat strap or angle iron to the top of 4 brackets on 16 wide panels to use as a brace to keep the ladder from slipping?

Not sure how you are planning on attaching your ladder, however, we have installed flat straps to these in other circumstances. It should not be used for anything structural because are are still dependent on the upright leg of the panel. I am not an engineer and you should probably get final approval from Roof Panel Manufacturer.

It’s impossible to know if these will work for your application without a lot more information. That said, these roof clamps are the most popular in the world for securing heavy objects to standing seam metal roofs. Generally speaking it’s better to buy more clamps than less so as to distribute the load across more anchor points on your roof system.
