Perfect when you don’t have a stove
I bought this to make pasta during a kitchen remodel when I didn’t have access to a stove. It’s simple and easy to use and the pasta cooks evenly and predictably. I will probably continue making pasta for the family the old fashioned way, but when I want a smaller amount of pasta just for me I’ll be happy to use it.

Works great
Pasta cooks like a dream. I bought one for each of my married grandsons and they thoroughly enjoy the convenience and speed. I highly recommend this pasta cooker.

No big pots of boiling water or strainer to wash. Very easy to wash, even by hand.
I made rotini. It turned out very well. If I am not careful, I usually wind up eating mushy pasta by overcooking it. Not this time. It took double the time to cook it al dente, but that is fine with me.

I REALLY like this. Very convenient.
OK, this is the "large" model that allows you to cook as much as 16 oz of pasta at a time. The "regular" model (I believe) only allows 8 oz max.It cooks the pasta quickly and very easily in your microwave. Note: you'll have to experiment with the cook time so that your particular microwave cooks the pasta al dente (or: however you like it).IMPORTANT: do NOT put the lid on when cooking. The lid is ONLY for measuring pasta before cooking and straining out the water after cooking. It has handles on the side so that you don't burn your fingers when removing it from the microwave. Very nice feature. The lid is GREAT for draining out the water from the pasta after it's cooked. Much easier than even a good colander#1 - because even thin spaghetti and angel-hair pasta do NOT get stuck in the slots or pass through the slots#2 - because the plastic cooker is light (much lighter than a pasta-sized metal pot) and easy to handle (with the side handles) and so very easy to strain the water off from the pastaThis is one of those kitchen gadgets that every pasta-lover should definitely have in their kitchen...if you need to cook a largish number of servings of pasta. For fewer servings, get the "regular" model. WONDERFUL invention. Attention to details make it VERY convenient. Also: easy to clean. I wash by hand.NO cons.

Does a good job of cooking pasta and saves room in the dishwasher
I really like this pasta cooker. It does a good job of cooking pasta. I have a small microwave and this doesn't rotate on the turntable because it's too large. It doesn't seem to matter, the whole thing is full of boiling water so I've never had any hot spots. The pasta does not stick together. I did have to adjust the cook time to 23 minutes for spaghetti and depending on what kind of pasta you like I'm sure the cook time will have to be adjusted accordingly to your microwave power and pasta type. Still, I was cooking pasta in a 6 quart kettle and this takes up a lot less room in the dishwasher top shelf. It's also very easy to drain pasta with the included cover. My microwave sits on the counter a couple feet from my sink so it's no problem for me to get this out of the microwave and over to the sink to drain it. I just give the pasta another rinse in the container and drain it again, so no dirty colander to wash. I did have the thought that if I had a microwave that was on a higher shelf I would probably have a harder time keeping it level and I might not want to be taking this out of an elevated microwave full of boiling water. It's not sealed and I think it would be pretty easy to spill hot water on yourself. (I am 65 and have some issues with arthritis) But for me and my situation it works great.

Definitely not fasta.
Definitely not fasta. Takes twice as long to cook but is more convenient due to the ease of cleanup. Just dont expect it to be faster.

Pasta has never been more convenient. Now you can make a pound of pasta at once!
No more waiting for large amounts of water to boil in a heavy pot, draining the scorching hot water from the heavy pot, and hoping you don’t accidently get any of that burning liquid on you. Well, you could still scorch yourself with this pasta cooker’s boiling hot water, so follow its instructions and don’t throw caution out the window.Just measure and add the pasta (up to a pound) using a scale or the convenient pasta amount measuring holes in the lid that comes with the pasta cooker and place it in the pasta cooker, fill with water to the fill line, add salt to the water and mix (when I make multiple batches of pasta in this pasta cooker, I just drain the water in another heatproof container and reuse the same water and add whatever water amount to bring it back to the fill line and I usually don’t have to add more salt to it), microwave the pasta cooker, but without the lid on it, to whatever minutes (the instructions have the ‘average’ cooking times for a lot of different kinds of pastas), and drain the hot water using the lid that turns the pasta cooker into a colander (but keep some of the starchy water, it’s good for the pasta sauce).I still wear oven mitts to do the draining, but that just might be me being “better safe than sorry.” However, The Original Fasta Pasta Family Size when filled with boiling hot water and hot pasta is pretty ‘heavy’ compared to The Original Fasta Pasta when filled with boiling hot water and hot pasta, so compared to The Original Fasta Pasta, I would definitely ‘recommend’ wearing oven mitts to drain The Original Fasta Pasta Family Size.It might take a little while to figure out how to make perfect pasta using this pasta cooker because one microwave might cook pasta faster or slower than another microwave (which is why I takes notes for the cooking times), but once you figure it out, it’s so much better than the “traditional” method, unless you’re making a lot of pasta at once.If you already own The Original Fasta Pasta, definitely get The Original Fasta Pasta Family Size, as well. Being able to make half a pound or a whole pound of pasta at once really adds to the whole “convenience” factor of this pasta cooker and better ensures the quality of pasta. But if you don’t own either, I would say it’s better to at least own the The Original Fasta Pasta Family Size since it can cook half a pound of pasta or a whole pound of pasta at once versus The Original Fasta Pasta that can only cook half a pound of pasta at a time.

Too big for my microwave
Fasta pasta is well made and cooks pasta as said in instructions. I removed a star because its too big to rotate in my microwave. Its much bigger than I expected

Fasta Pasta freaking amazing
I love my Fasta Pasta maker. My husband found out about it from a client and told me to buy one RIGHT AWAY! This is odd for him, he normally says - stop buying things! LOL. It's super easy to use. It doesn't take up stove space while you're trying to make the sauce and sides. It cooks all sorts of pasta, but also potatoes, rice, etc. Perfect pasta every time! You can drain it using the lid. It's marked for the exact amount of water to use depending on serving size. It's easy to take it out of the oven without getting burned... Amazing!

Does the job
I was not expecting much from this when I first used it, but I was pleasantly surprised and recommend it to others. Pasta comes out great (microwaves differ so treat the cooking guide info as ballpark recommendations) and clean-up is easy.
