USB GPS SENSOR - I would give this SIX stars if I could!
This product worked GREAT and VERY QUICK with Delorme Street Atlas 2015 but does NOT work with Microsoft Streets and Trips 2013(Now defunct). It DOES work with Garmin GPS PC software very well and quite accurately! Two out of three isn't too bad! This appears to be much more accurate than the standard Delorme sensor and Bluetooth sensor as well. This one seems to be made of far more superior material that will stand up against the elements a bit more than the other. So far I am quite impressed with it's accuracy and quick power up and program recognition ability. If I need another one the you can bet that THIS is the one that I will go to buy again for another vehicle to use!

works great and reliable
this is actually my second one. the first one i bought was so easy - plug and play - it's so powerful, it locks on to satellites almost immediately! it's reliable, too. it never gave me a problem, not once since i've had it. so i decided to get another one for my husband's computer and as backup to the old magellan handheld gps that we've got connected to a dedicated PC on our boat for navigation. i've had the cheaper ones and they work okay if you don't mind "choppy" - no choppy with this little hockey puck-style gps!

High priced, but solid and reliable
I've owned two of these units, and use them in a mobile environment with a laptop to find utility equipment in municipal environments. I can't use a conventional dashboard GPS due to the need for service people to interchange files that show equipment locations. That being said, this is a solid and reliable unit. My first gave up the ghost after a lot of years due to abuse to it's USB connector. This one works just as well. Interfaces well with the DeLorme laptop mapping software. Unit is weatherproof and durable, and has a strong magnet in the base. Generally, I find leaving it on the dashboard is very sufficient for good results. Cable is long enough to comfortably reach the laptop anywhere in 4 passenger vehicle. A little pricy, but worth it. Depending upon your computer you may need the DeLorme "Spanner" software, or you may need to download drivers for the unit. I found it worked out the box with Windows 7 Pro.

Great GPS for mapping software on PC
Does the job its designed to do. I work in Law enforcement and use this on my mapping software on the computer, it works great. Accuracy down to about 10ft (which is GPS standard i believe) and a low latency so its as real time as possible while moving around.

Obsolete: Does not work with Windows 10 or 11
It worked in 2017, however there are no drivers for Windows 10 or 11. Don't buy this obsolete product.

Great navigation tool!!!!
Garmin 18x USB Navigator Unit completely met my expectations. I've used these for years and they never disappoint--but becoming more difficult to locate since being discontinued. They are extremely user friendly. I fly helicopters as a forestry pilot and the more user friendly the better! I wish the company would continue producing these handy units.

not exactly what i was looking for, kind of deceived.
I was expecting a take along GPS generator and ended up being a stand still, stick to you pc type.

Works great!
I bought this device several years back for an engineering project, and I only got to use it extensively last week. It works great; position accuracy is great. Be aware that the receiver's data output is Garmin proprietary. If you need NMEA-formatted output to interface with some certain mapping applications such as Streets & Trips, you will have to download (free) Franson GPSGate software which works with a single mouse click. Garmin provides a link to the software download on their customer support website.
