Helps Me Sleep Better and Feel Calmer
I've been taking NOW Foods Glycine 1000 mg for a few weeks now, and I've definitely noticed a difference. It helps me fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer - I wake up feeling more rested and refreshed. I also feel a bit calmer during the day, especially during stressful moments. The capsules are easy to swallow, and I love that the formula is clean - no GMOs, soy, gluten, or unnecessary fillers. It's also vegan, which is a big plus.If you're looking for a natural way to support your sleep, mood, or nervous system, I highly recommend giving this supplement a try. Great quality, great price, and real results!

No more sleepless nights
I will never live without this again. At 55 yrs old, I was tired all the time. Not sleeping through the night. Getting up several times a night to pee. Before bed, Istarted taking 3000 mg of this along with my magnesium glycinate that I've been taking for years, and it changed everything. I might get up once to pee now. But when I do, I easily go right back into a good sleep. I feel refreshed in the morning. My digestive system feels better with no bloating. Inflammation is non existent. It is definitely improving my health and well being.

Lowers Body Temperature
I take this before bed so I won't die from dehydration under the comforter. Most evenings, it works. I definitely feel warmer when I forget to take it.

I'm happy
I wrote a sort of negative review about a different Now product, so I thought that it was only fair to also review this one that I'm very happy with. My sleep tracker doesn't show that I sleep much differently on it, but I feel like I wake up more refreshed.

In the battle for a good night's sleep, this is a winner!
This is working really well for me. I'm taking 2 or 3 at bedtime along with a capsule of GABA, also the Now brand, and in the last couple of weeks I've often slept 7 hours straight through, which has been extremely difficult to do for several years. If I do wake up after 5-6 hours and want to sleep longer, I've been able to go right back to sleep. A sleep mask is essential since my room can't be darkened, and I often switch on my white noise machine, set to ocean waves, and I'm out in just a few minutes.I've tried other things that have helped, both herbs and supplements, but I keep trying new things to see what they'll do for me. Since glycine is just an amino acid, it seems very safe to me. The price is right, too!If you're interested in other things to try, here's what has helped in the past (some I currently use or may use again):> Magnesium (Essential for hundreds of processes in your body, most of us are deficient, and it's very helpful for relaxing at bedtime--I've used it for years. The "Got Mag" website recommends 5x your bodyweight in milligrams daily, and also gives advice for the types most helpful and easily absorbed.)> Vitamin D3 plus K2 for absorption (I take 5,000-10,000 IU of D3 per day, in the morning to mimic sunlight. Be careful--it can keep you up if you take it too late in the day.)> Lavender oil (dab some on your wrists and put your hands near your face)> Valerian, or a valerian/hops/chamomile combo> Some homeopathic formulas have been helpful in the past, but they don't seem to do much now> 5-HTP> Tryptophan> GABA> Melatonin (Can be tricky--used to work great, but now seems to have the opposite effect on me if I use it for several days in a row. Some of the products above are precursors to melanonin and I've read that your body converts them to as much as you need--so maybe that's why they work better for me.)> A spoonful of honey before bed (Google it...I still do this most nights)> The adrenal cocktail (Google it...it worked for a while, but my cortisol tends to be too high and I think it works better for those with low cortisol)Since my window shades let in too much street light, I always use a sleep mask, turn the thermostat down to stay cool, and am trying to restrict use of electronics before bed (screens send a blast of blue light into your eyes/brain). I have f.lux (a free program installed on my PC) and that helps, but really you're supposed to avoid all electronics or bright lights for at least an hour before bed. Some wear blue-blocking glasses in the evening. Other things that would help, but which I usually can't do, are getting sunshine, a bit of exercise, and barefoot walking in the early part of the day.Going to bed the moment you get sleepy is very important, but I'm still working on this. If I push through that initial sleepiness because it's "too early," as I too often do, I get a "second wind" (which I now know is a surge of cortisol) and then it may be hours before I get sleepy again. Then I also wake up too early, and it's a vicious cycle. This is all related to stressed adrenal glands/poor adrenal function, and you can learn more by reading Dr. Wilson's book http://www.amazon.com/Adrenal-Fatigue-Century-Stress-Syndrome/dp/1890572152/ or Dr. Christianson's book http://www.amazon.com/Adrenal-Reset-Diet-Strategically-Proteins/dp/0804140537/ or just searching online for information.
