ViewSonic VG2228WM-LED 22" 1080p Ergonomic Monitor DVI, VGA

We paid more than we needed to pay to get a model with a base that adjusted height, swiveled, and tilted. Other Viewsonics with similar specs werefifty dollars cheaper, but had fixec, weak, stands. These are used in our offices and are a good size, great quality video and contrast, and for us, adjustable

Not too long ago I needed to convert my old desktop pc which I keep around for emergencies from XP to Win 7. Unfortunately an issue I ran into was that the driver for the also very old LCD monitor on it wasn't recognized in Win 7 and a generic driver was provided by the new operating system. That driver wasn't a good fit for the monitor and the display driver intermittently began resetting itself afterwards.Since I have had good luck with the older brother of this Viewsonic LED monitor which I got just over 2 years ago with my new pc I decided to buy this monitor to use. The only difference is the Viewsonic monitor I bought 2 years ago used a cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) as a light source vs. the LED backlight of this newer one.Upon reception I installed this new LED monitor on my everyday pc and moved the older LCD Viewsonic with the CCFL backlight to my old emergency backup computer where it worked fine. As with the older monitor the colors are good and this monitor is also comfortable for reading for longer periods without eye strain. It is designed for use as a horizontal widescreen monitor and it comes with viewing adjustments for using as such. Another plus for me is that I'm also saving a few $$ because the LED backlit screen on this one which uses less electricity to operate. It works well for my every day applications and also for playing games when I get the urge. Yes, I can still destroy the bad monsters on this LED version monitor. :-)Speakers: This monitor comes with tiny stereo speakers built into it. They aren't meant to replace a stereo sound system and shouldn't be expected to. But the tiny speakers do give you some flexibility. On my main desktop computer when I'm not gaming or listening to music I have the sound output set to the monitor. System sounds, watching web videos of my football team's coach explaining the team's weekly losses, etc. are good enough using these speakers alone. And again not having to turn on my 5.1 amplifier/speakers all the time is also an energy/cost savings for me.If used per instructions this monitor should provide you with many years of viewing satisfaction. I don't believe it would come with a 3 year warranty if the company that made them didn't expect them to last at least that long. Happy viewing.

This viewsonic monitor arrived in 1st class condition. Just plug and play out of the box. I use this for e-mail and web browsing along with occassional Excel worksheets. I've had it operating for about two months and have no complaints. The colors are great, text is very clear.

This monitor was pretty much plug and play, the picture is crisp. I like the 2 usb ports, I do with they were on the side instead of the back though. A great monitor for the money

The monitor I received didn't work at all. I tried with three different computers and nothing ever displayed on the screen, despite being properly connected and all. I guess I got the one monitor that went through Q.A. without being detected as the paper weight it was. I returned it the same day.Something else I noticed is that the software that came with the monitor in a disc (to manage installation, help and whatnot) was really, really old. The whole application was created with Macromedia, as it proudly announced; the interface looked ancient and the interactions were very slow. It's a small thing, but if Viewsonic is using software that is more than 10 years old for its monitors, it's no wonder that defective hardware can be shipped to consumers. I gave up getting another Viewsonic monitor and got a BenQ instead, which is larger, cheaper and works great.

In the past I have always purchased Samsung Syncmaster monitors because they were a good value. But this time I couldn't find any Syncmasters that had the adjustable height which I require in my 3-display setup, so I figured I'd try this Viewsonic.The Viewsonic is working great for me. No problems with either the purchase process or the monitor. In my application I am not too concerned about color accuracy. The height and tilt adjustments are just what I need for good ergonomics.Update 12/1/14: The monitor started flashing about every 30 seconds after about 20 months of use. I will have to pay to ship it back for a warranty replacement. I'm disappointed at this reliability issue. Dropping from 5 to 3 stars.

I've had two of these up and running for over a month now. I've got them sitting beside the VG 2428wm (non LED) versions. The colors appear to be true, and they plot the same on my big plotter as on the screen. These LED monitors appear just a bit brighter than the old ones, and perhaps just a bit lighter. All in all, a very clear monitor. Arrived in good shape. Easy to hook up and use.Mostly I do large detailed color graphics. No video to speak of. I did not hook up the speakers, and so have no comment about them.I really like the old, non LED verson and so I bought these. So far I'm quite satisfied.

Monitor adjusts up and down for ergonomics and swivels. Best design for monitor stand hands down in the industry. Went to Best Buy or Office Depot and no other manufacturer has one similar. They sales lady even said LOTS of people ask for this. Great job Viewsonic. Keep up the great work and keep making this style monitor stand. Monitor itself work great. Never had an issue. I use for everyday office work.
