The Art of Metal Gear Solid V

I bought this for a friend, and after getting to look through it I decided I would get it for myself as well. Not only is this book great for fans of the MGS series to simply read and look at, it's great for artists in need of reference photos. All the designs are beautiful. From the character design to the level design it's all fantastic to look at and appreciate all the hard work that went into making such a beautiful game.

An incredible Art Book, featuring art from concept to final pieces by the incredibly talented Yoji Shinkawa and other Artist from Kojima Studios, and the Konami Team. Its a shame that some of the concepts never made it in game, but it doesn't detract from how amazing they are. highly recommend this book for fans of the series, and art enthusiasts.

Nice look at the art behind the game. Visually satisfying. Excellent work and aid for those with the desire to see more Metal Gear.

I love this book!!! It covers everything from ground zeroes to the phantom pain it even has concept art of mission 51 kingdom of the flies. It was worth it although I wish it had the concept art for mgo3 in it as well but still an amazing book. I highly recommend it for metal gear fans

First off, as a Metal Gear Solid fan, who doesn't want this. Everything concept and art from the amazing minds of Kojima and his team and in the beautiful and mysterious style we've come to know the Metal Gear universe to be. Guns, characters, environments, Metal Gears (!?!) are all here and more than your hearts content, and especially if you're an artist and interested in concept design it's a little bible all in its own. What's that? You want to see a peak at the hidden third level and the band of characters, bosses, and actual story that Konami ripped from Kojima's hands? Look no further, friend, it's there, and it's true, all of it. Plus a hidden message from Kojima to his fans about his departure from Konami rests on the last page, the final image of our Metal Gear saga. And now for Kojima productions to keep me stuck in my childhood well into my 40's. ONWARDS

This collectible is awesome, let's just put that out there! Great limited edition copy that I had to own for one of the greatest gaming franchises ever! With that being said, quality assurance could have been a lot better. PROS: - Amazing art work - Limited edition - Limited lithograph from Ashley Wood - Kick ass Diamond Dogs hard case - Pages are thick - Pages has the iconic explanation mark painted (also a con) - Diamond Dog book mark (connected to the spine) - Free digital version CONS: - Some paint bleed due to the red ink exclamation point on the outer pages - Said paint bleed made a page stick together which ripped - The binding is hand woven by a single binding (don't abuse the book, could fall apart) - Said lithograph is from Ashely Wood, would rather have one from Yoji Shinkawa for the price (Quiet looks like a monkey) :p For the price I would have expected more, although the book is limited and sells for $150 now, if it was constructed better/ with Yoji's artwork it would have been a easy $250-300 collectible. You should also know that the DD hard case has scratches throughout ON PURPOSE. It looks so good that I actually submitted a return thinking mine got scuffed up in transit. Definitely pick it up if you find it for $80 or less. I like being part of a limited edition club ;D

Yoji Shinkawa and teams art shines in this detailed and beautiful book. Really great to get an insight into the teams vision before it was cut short by Konami. Metal Gear art books are often rare and hard to find, so pick this one up while it is available!

I've always loved the art of Metal Gear and this book contains lots of it. Only drawback is the description of the drawings is in japanese with no translations.

Forse sarà l'ultimo vero Metal Gear, anzi lo è sicuramente visto che Kojima non credo potrà tornare a lavorarci sopra. Un grandissimo libro che riporta schemi, disegni e illustrazioni grafiche di MGS V. Consigliato agli appassionati della saga, ai collezionisti e agli appassionati di grafica relativa ai videogiochi. C'è anche del materiale sul famoso DLC o contenuto extra mai uscito effettivamente per MGS V.

El mejor juego de Hideo Kojima hasta la fecha (hasta que salga Death Standing claro está). En este libro puedes encontrar la pasión por crear y diseñar un videojuego. No por nada Metal Gear Solid esta considerado como elejor videojuego de su género, en la industria y en la historia de los vídeojuegos. 100/100 - 10/10 - 5/5 ❤️ Es perfecto. Yoji Shinkawa es un verdadero artista, y es sinónimo de Metal Gear, a la par con Kojima.

Excellent, really happy and proud to own a copy of this beautiful art book, each page filled with rich visually stunning art from Yoji Shinkawa, from art work showing the games development through out the years it took to make to revealing never before seen unused idea's and interesting concepts, this art book is highly recommended for any Metal Gear Solid fan. Get yours while it's still available!

Also ich habe mir diese Limited Edition des Artbooks zu MGS 5: The phantom pain natürlich direkt Vorbestellt und muss sagen: Nicht nur die Limited Edition macht absolut Sinn, sondern auch die normale Version taugt zu einigem!! Zur LE: Das Artbook selbst steckt in einem massiven Schuber welcher mittels Magnetverschluss verschlossen werden kann. Darin befindet sich das Artbook mit Lesezeichenband (welches ein Diamond dogs Logo aus Metall am Ende hängen hat). Die Front der Seiten wurde Rot gefärbt und zeigt, wenn das Buch geschlossen ist, ein Ausrufezeichen ! Sollte ja allen MGS-Fans bekannt sein. Hinzu kommt ein schwarzes dünnes aufklappbares Büchlein, indem eine Lithographie von Ashley Wood befindet. Sehr nett anzusehen, auch wenn ich mir hier eher eine Lithographie von Yoji Shinkawa gewünscht hätte. Dem richtigen und offiziellen Zeichner der MGS Ära. Das Artbook bietet viele schöne Zeichnungen eben von Yoji Shinkawa und zeigt nicht nur Charaktersheets sondern auch Waffen, Logos, Concept Arts und sogar Zeichnungen aus dem "Lost Chapter". Ein Must-Have für alle MGS Fans und gerade diese Limited Edition macht sich richtig toll bei jedem Sammler in der Vitrine, oder dem Regal^^
