perfect for my korean cuisine and adds to the flavour perfectly. I have used gochujang before but this one is just right and smooth! you can use it for all sorts of dishes as i usually add a few drops into my pasta dishes or into a marinade! not too expensive and lasts a long time as a drop goes a long way.

The packaging describes this as a 'fermented bean paste' although the ingredients don't actually list any soy beans (or any other kind of beans) so I'm not sure what's fermented here exactly - I think it must be the wheat flour which can be fermented because of the gluten. The sauce is a deep dark red colour like a concentrated tomato puree, and the consistency is similar to ketchup meaning that it dispenses well from the squeeze bottle but doesn't run. It has a very strong smell when you open it, not just 'umami' but a little like a strong anchovy sauce in particular. Its pretty perfect level of heat to use as a chilli sauce/chilli ketchup as a condiment - its hot but not painfully so.

This sauce is amazing. Hot and tangy and makes the perfect bibimbap at home.

One of the only Korean Gochujang that is Soy free, I've bought this numerous times, and it is an absolute godsend for packing flavour to recipes when you have a Soy allergy!
