Effective and reasonably priced record weight
First off, I think there is a lot of hype on record weights. Some try to be complicated and the manufacturer tries to charge a high price. Some are simple and still have a high price. Some appear to use physics to dramatically improve the sound. This one is simple and it is reasonably priced. Frankly, I was not convinced that I needed one of these or that they actually worked. There are a lot of things in high end audio that are over-hyped. I, somewhat by accident, saw a YouTube video demonstration of using a record weight. The video was well done in that it was edited to show "instantly" the difference in sound with the weight applied and removed. To my surprise, I could actually hear a small difference and that was with my laptop. So, I concluded that there may be something to these record weights. So, I started my search for one. I came across this one. It is made of stainless steel, which I like and the cost was very reasonable. This one, I believe, is one of the heavier ones, as best I could tell from my limited research. I liked the idea of more weight. Keep in mind that extra weight may not be the best answer for a lot of turntables. Most turntables use a suspended platter. This means that the part that holds the record is attached to the table chassis via springs. These springs help to reduce vibrations that will impact the sound. The problem with a suspended turntable is that adding the weight will put increased pressure on the springs and could bottom them out. In that case, the springs would be ineffective. Most of the suspended turntables have an adjustment for the spring pressure. So, if you add a weight, it may be possible to adjust the springs so that the table is fully suspended as intended. A heavier weight may not be able to able to be readjusted, while a lighter weight may work ok. In my case, my table is not suspended. This means that I have to take extra care to isolate the table from room vibrations in a different way. But, it also means that the table has no problem with the extra weight of the record weight. Some of the really light weights are really clamps. You push the weight down on the center spindle, then clamp it in place. You get the same results as a heavier weight without the problems associated with the springs. This weight does not have a clamp. It works by gravity only. I'm planning to buy another one for the table I have downstairs. I don't think you can go wrong with this weight if you don't have an issue with the table springs.

There's nicely applied felt
This is a very heavy (as turntable weights go) machined steel puck with a hole in it. I use a powerful direct drive turntable, so I'm not worried about the mass of it. Since it's on the spindle, I doubt it would cause any problems for a belt driven TT, but it's worth considering. There's nicely applied felt, more like flocking than padding, on the bottom and it looks exactly like what's listed. I got it to help with slightly warped records, no expectations for improving sound quality on an already flat disc.

... but this one is in my opinion is the best for a couple of reasons
Looked at many album weights and even tried a Big Ben but this one is in my opinion is the best for a couple of reasons. First is it made of solid stainless steel and has a great appearance but more importantly it is very heavy and flat enough to fit under my Pro-Ject dust cover while closed and playing an album. It does help create an audiable sound difference and I do recommend it. The only draw back is it isn't a prime product and unless you pay to expedite shipping it takes forever to get but worth the wait

Well made, great price, and the best solution for your warped records
This is a very well made product at an extremely reasonable price. I also own VPI's top-of-the-line stainless steel spindle weight, and although it has the edge on this product in the looks department, it also costs 3 times as much and is less than half the weight. If you're looking for a record weight to challenge your most warped records, this is the one to buy. Very highly recommended!

Just The One You Need.
Great looking Record Weight, With Sufficient Heft For Those Warped Records. This Item Just Sits On The Spindle It's Not A Clamp, It has A Very Low Profile So The Lid Will Shut While Playing Your Turntable. Would Highly Recommend. Stainless Record Center Weight, Silver

Fits under the dust cover of a U-Turn Orbit turntable
Felt bottom and fits under the dust cover of a U-Turn Orbit turntable. Just barely clears the underside of the little Orbit badge, but I have two slip mats.
