Extra steps for truenas
I purchased 3 of these for a truenas NAS running virtualized (w/hba passthrough and IT mode) on a Dell 720xd. If any of that doesn't make sense to you, double check that this is the right item. These are SAS enterprise drives, and will not work with SATA.I dinged a star because it doesn't mention that these are outside the manufacturer's warranty (Seagate). I found this out when I registered them.If you are planning on using these with TrueNAS, know that you will need to format them to remove the "Data Integrity Feature" or "T10-PI" protection. Speaking of format, they are formatted with 512 sectors.
