The tea has a nice soothing flavor. It's not too floral, bitter, or medicinal tasting. Just a clean, bright taste with subtle sweetness and slightly astringent tea. The tea contains valerian root, which is where Valium is derived from, as well as chamomile and other herbs known to help cause drowsiness. It's a relaxing cup of tea and I drink one almost every night before heading to bed. I'm not sure if it's truly working or some kind of a placebo effect, but on most days I do feel a bit sleepier about 15-20 minutes after drinking the tea. That being said, I find that if I don't go to sleep, about 30-40 minutes later I'm wide awake again.Sometimes I'll make a cup during the afternoon to help me wind down, especially if I've been having a particularly stressful or aggravating days, and it's a nice way to spend a few minutes sipping on this tea and gathering my thoughts. A great tea.

Like most, I too have diagnosed insomnia. My doctor is aware that I drink this tea in conjunction with my insomnia meds, and is fine with it. If I were to just take the sleeping meds alone, they're useless. If I drink the tea alone, it's useless. When I combine them, I find that I fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer and actually feel well rested. If you have true insomnia, not just sleeping problems, then I highly doubt that this tea alone will work for you. But, if your having problems sleeping, problems trying to relax before bed, and need help doing so, then this tea should do the trick! It's very relaxing. I make a cup, let it steep, prepare it with stevia, or sometimes a little honey, then take my cup right into bed with me. If I didn't have insomnia, and my issues sometimes were falling or staying asleep, then I would definitely drink this tea on its own and think it would work fine. Again, it is relaxing. You really can't beat this tea for the price and quantity you get. It is a single square tea bag with no string. Seems to work well and aid in helping me sleep better at night. I normally use the Yogi Bed time tea, this tea is comparable but lacks the slight sweet aftertaste that the Yogi brand has, which is why I gave it 4 stars. This is a good alternative and Not a bad tea by any means, but I think I'll stick to my other brand, I like the aftertaste a lot better.

Amazing products. I sometimes have a hard time sleeping and drink this tea to help me sleep. And although other products also aid with going to sleep (melatonin, and others) this product has agreed with my body the most. I have taken other sleep aids before, and some have worked and some have not. But of those that have worked, this has worked best with no grogginess and no side effects. I wake up feeling refreshed and normal. Don't oversleep. And don't feel tired. Also as a tea, it has a fantastic taste. I recommend this product, and have offered it to family members when they can't relax or sleep.

This tea is magical! It really works. I have a hard time falling asleep most nights but find that if I drink this at least 1.5 hours before I want to go to sleep and then read in bed for a while I'm finally sleepy enough to fall asleep. Pair that with some exercise in the afternoon and you're ready to go. Of course it's not going to work as well if you slept in really late, but if you keep at least a semi-regular sleep cycle it should work well for you.

I use Sleepy Time tea(the original) normally...love it...This product contains additional ingredients that made me have heart fluttering and was very uncomfortable because of that...I only will use the original formula if i take this product.
