It's so difficult to find a perfect straw cup for toddlers. I originally came across these because I needed a straw cup for a child who aspirates and these actually have a valve which slows the drink down. I've tried every brand on the market and stopped when we found these. We only buy these cups for my toddler so we have a collection of them and you can mix and match the lids.They aren't totally leak proof, and chances are your kid will figure out how to shake it upside down to leak. But when left on it's side, only a couple drops (what was in the short portion of the straw) will come out. I mix my child's formula right in this cup and shake it with a paper towel over the top because it will splatter with vigorous shaking. If you mix formula in it, you'll need to vent it after mixing before the straw will work.

Received the wrong color (pink & purple) despite ordering blue & silver. Cup works great otherwise. No spills and my toddler loves it.

Discovered a fix for the “self leaking” issue. So, I saw a lot of complaints about this cup leaking on its own and that it’s difficult to open, but I needed it and ordered it anyways. Tommy Tippee products are oddly enough the only ones my toddler can’t destroy, go figure! Anyways, to fix the leaking by itself and the ease of opening, you must take the closure off the top and squeeze it firmly enough to bend the inside piece that goes across, just behind the hole where the straw goes, into a slight arc (But not too hard, it is plastic after all). I’ve included a picture with arrows pointing to where you need to squeeze it at. It should still feel firm when you close it, and stay closed. Now it won’t build pressure and make a mess for y’all I hope! I found out the closure fits so tightly it doesn’t allow for the pressure and gas to escape after it goes through the valve, and also this is what makes it difficult to open. Hope this helps!!!

My toddler had a really hard time letting go of his bottles. One day I took him to the store and told him to choose a big kid cup so we could get rid of his bottles, I put these in front of him as the option and he took the bait. They are absolutely leak proof, not the hardest to clean but I do hate putting it back together sometimes. They are durable and my son is no longer using a bottle to drink his bedtime chocolate milk. This was the 3rd addition to the family.

Purchased for my 20 month old grandson, who loves being a big boy and using a straw. The only problem, we have experienced, is when you fill the cup and put the lid on, the juice/milk will squirt out the straw. Doesn't matter if straw is open or closed. It still squirts out.

My son does well with these cups (except for chewing at the straws as he is teething, therefore I have to replace them after several months since I can't find replacement straws). However, I have been very frustrated with ordering this product on Amazon. The first time we got these cups, we received the lime and teal set, however when I reordered we got somewhat more girly ones that are light blue with pink and purple with orange (same sayings on the 2 cups), but we decided to just keep them since it wasn't worth the shipping hassle. This time when we reordered, we got very girly cups that are purple with pink lids and have a totally different decal on the front. I am frustrated that Amazon has no option to choose which cups you get! I would pay a dollar or 2 more to not have the frustration of getting unknown cups!

Bummer man.. I got the colors I was hoping for! And was so excited to have these for my daughter.. but alas, they aren't spill proof (which I wouldn't fully expect if they weren't claimed to be).. they don't seem to spill on their own, but when my 1.5 year old daughter inevitably turns them upside down, water comes out indeed.Also, we have had (washed and used- because I haven't had the time or wherewithal to look for others), these for quite some time now, and there is still a plastic taste that comes with the water =/ I would consider recommending them to others if it weren't for this taste. I'm not sure if its coming from the bottle or the straw, or maybe both.And cleaning isn't so great either.. I'm not sure if the straw part that pops in and out of the top is meant to come out or not, but I got it out to clean it, and it was almost impossible to get back in. Maybe the "switch" piece is meant to come off and on for cleaning? I'm not sure. If not, I sort of "broke" it and then put it back together so I could clean it well.They are durable though-only one has a slight scratch/blemish on it. And they're a great size.

Good product . However the flap and straw are too close for a child’s mouth and makes sipping uncomfortable

Very disappointed. Waited almost a month for it to arrive and it arrived pink when it was advertised blue/red. For my son who loves rockets and the Color blue. He doesn’t want a pink water bottle.
