Hot wheels cars (and similar toys) are die-cast from an alloy or zinc and aluminum. They are non-magnetic, so this tool won't be able to retrieve it.

Q: Can it pick up a 14k gold band?

This item's stated holding value is 3 pounds but the determining factor will be the composition of the band. Pure gold is typically not magnetic so this tool's ability to pick up the band will depend on if there are any other magnetic materials (such as nickel) in the band.

Q: Will this work to snake through small holes in my car door to retrieve the trim nails that fell inside the door?

Not knowing the hole size I would say that the magnet at the tip is about 60% as big as a pencil. I would think it would work. The magnet is strong.

Excelente herramienta de recuperación

No mide las 25", llega hasta las 24 3/8". La punta mide 5/16" y sostiene una matraca de 1/2 sin problema!!! :) Yo creo que la 1/2" que le falta no le resta méritos a la herramienta... Seguro sirve para rescatar muchas piezas pequeñas (que es lo que suele extraviarse)... Muy recomendable!

Better description of product

I would have preferred to know what the thickness of the copper rod. That way I would know if it was heavy duty or not. I believe the thinner rod won't hold up to constant bending unlike some other manufacturers
