Product Description Three young meneach cursed with two left feetfind that the right steps to salsa dancing can lead to love in this hilarious romantic film"a feel-good date movie in the Four Weddings mold" (Uncut)! Starring Craig Ferguson ("The Drew Carey Show"), Ian Hart (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone), Jane Horrocks ("Absolutely Fabulous"), Adrian Lester, Catherine McCormack,Jimi Mistry, David Morrissey and Olivia Williams (The Sixth Sense), Born Romantic will take you for a dizzying spin through three quirky courtshipsand leave you "smiling and believing that love really can conquer all" (Good Housekeeping)! A certified lounge lotharioseeks to heat things up with an art historian who's cooled on the idea of love. A failed musician wants to strum the right chord with the bride he jilted years earlier. And a dyslexic mugger with a chloroform-doused cloth finds himself knocked out by a pretty grave attendant. They've got their workcut out for them. And yet, at a local club pulsating with the hot sounds of salsa music, any one ofthese three could find the answer to his romantic quandary if they can only find the rhythm in time. .com A cheeky comedy about love's labor being well beyond lost, Born Romantic stutters out of the gate and never quite recovers. Perhaps it's the gaggle of local quips, jokes based on British television personalities, for instance, or the cameo-like nature of its ever-revolving cast, but director David Kane can't seem to sit still long enough to artfully set up his punch lines--anathema to a feature-length comedy. Set mostly in a London salsa club, the film trails behind a series of lonely thirtysomething singles as they search out one-night stands in the hopes of stumbling upon something more meaningful, namely love. As they shuttle to and fro in late-night minicabs, we're afforded insight into their shortcomings, past disappointments, shagging abilities, and ostensible charms, the cab serving as both confession booth and makeshift bedroom. Featuring a cast of recognizably talented faces, including Jimi Mistry (East Is East) and Olivia Williams (Rushmore), Born Romantic unfortunately never manages to shake its initial impression of being an inflated sitcom better pared down for television. --Fionn Meade

Born Romantic
This movie would definitely be labeled a "chick flick" by most people, and being a chick myself, I loved it. It's a sweet, funny movie. Again, I am a huge Craig Ferguson fan, so it's all good to me. But honestly, I did not know what to expect of him being in a full length movie as opposed to being the host of a late night talk show, but he is really good. I would also recommend "Saving Grace". Hope you like "Born Romantic". I think you will.

Romantic and funny and not a bit of schmaltz
Absolutely adorable, totally un-schmaltzy British comedy about a bunch of hapless misfits looking for love at a London Salsa club. A Frank Sinatra wannabe Scot, a useless Mugger and a failed Irish rockstar are the hopeless romantics chasing a thorny British rose, a peculiar hypochondriac and a horny ex-punk. If you love a romance without the saccharine, and laughing, lots, like, until you wee a bit, you're probably Born Romantic, too.

Sexy little romp!
I prefer the movies that Craig writes himself and I dont believe this to be one of them. It's a sexy movie with a dark edge to it. Not enough Craig in it though! I prefer "Saving Grace", and "I'll Be There".

Romantic and Funny
I like this movie. Quirky characters, great music, dancing and clever writing. Nonsensical as life itself! Every time I see it, I see something different.

Old fashioned search for love story...
If you're looking for exciting chase scenes, gratutious nudity, explicit sex scenes, and formulaic mega-spectacle, then this one is not for you. But, you will love this movie if you love dance, dancers, searchers for true love, cynics whom true love find, oddballs who find their one true soul mate, and good guys who win in the end. All in one underrated and underreviewed masterpiece. Ignore the naysayers. Take a chance and see this one. Share it with someone you love. You will not regret it.

Born Romantic - Craig Ferguson
This, along with Ferguson's, "Saving Grace", is one of his better performances. He'll never win an Oscar (not that he cares), but he's likeable and, well, gorgeous. I don't personally care for Olivia Williams, but she does a good job, and all the other secondary characters are kinda quirky and fun.

Romantic and quirky
This film passes muster for me because it is romantic, quirky and the characters are linked in interesting ways. The main threads in this film that bring the characters together are a salsa club and a cab driver with an interesting past. Very BBC. A warning for some: as in many British films, there are a few spots of F-word spouting, which is why it is rated R.

Hard to Find DVD
This romantic comedy was charming, funny, and clever. I recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a problem with heavy British accents. (If you do, try it with captions). It was fun, funny, and a nice pick-me-up when one needs a lift.

One of my most favourite films
The other reviews go into the plot so i wont but if you want to do yourself the biggest favour ever, buy this film and watch it regularly, amazing one liners, deep felt sentiments without being sentimental, funny, witty, very unpredictable, so well acted directed and written. All that and the most AMAZING soundtrack to boot. Most people, especially men are put off this film without giving it a chance because of it's title. You have to see it to believe how good it is.I suggest the other reviewers watch it again without interuption.

Tonight, I am cool...
Centered around a salsa club, three men pursue three women across London.Fergus is trying to find his ex-girlfriend.Charmer Frankie, is trying his hardest to pull the beautiful Eleanor.Robber Eddie is trying to find, and also pull, one of his victims, cemetery worker Jocelyn...In the late nineties and early noughties, there were a slew of these British romantic comedies, that were trying to be a sort of antidote to the sickly sweet behemoths that were Richard Curtis movies. We Had This Years Love, If Only, House, Virtual Sexuality, and this. And while some of them were funny and quite the alternative (think Lock stock for the ladies) they disappeared without a trace, because they were too familiar and felt a little bit too depressing at times. This film, whilst it has a few genius moments, features too many people with miserable faces to be anything like a cheerful movie. We have Adrian Lester as a sort of guardian, watching their lives as they sit in the back of his cab, being drunk and depressed. And apart from McCormack, none of the characters are very likable. They are either thieves, drunkards, loose women, or stuck up.So at the end, you really couldn't care less, because they don't really deserve to be happy. But there are funny moments, and despite the unlikable characters, the performances are brilliant.Just do it less gloomy next time....
