EASY TO PROGRAM!
These replaced the remotes that gave up the ghost, after 9 years. I was doubtful that they would be any good, would match my fans, and were actually as easy to program as they claimed. But all of my fears were for naught. They are as good as my originals and EASY to program. I did 4 of them within about 5 min.

Huge Improvement Over Just an On/Off Switch
Our on/off switch is near the bedroom door so it's nice to be able to control both the fan light and fan functions from a control (that replaces the wall switch) when entering and leaving the room AND by using the remote on the night stand. The original light switch only complicated everything (for the worse). If the light and/or fan were turned off from the remote, the wall switch was useless, plus making the mistake of turning the switch off then made the remote useless and required getting out of bed to turn the switch on in order to use the remote.Re: complaints about the built-in LED backlight being too bright in a dark, I haven't noticed it. It's possible Minka corrected the problem or some people are much more sensitive to low-level light.A few reviewers have complained about the two light switches/buttons. We have a Minka-Aire fan in the dining room with two lights (one over and one under the fan blades). The smaller of the two round light buttons on the wall control works the upper light and the larger one works the lower light.NOTE: I ordered the WCS212 by mistake and was concerned that it might not work with the RCS223 remote and receiver purchased with the fan (Minka-Aire F522-WH, Mojo White 52" Ceiling Fan with Light). Minka-Aire offers two types of remotes, one for a small group of fans with an electrical reverse feature and one for fans that require manual switching to reverse blade directions (which is what the F522 has). When I saw the reverse feature on the WCS212 I called Minka and a (snotty) support person told me I'd purchased the wrong wall control (the card that came with the remote lists the WCS213). I had to interrupt him to ask, "All I want to know is will the WCS212 work with the RCS223?" He finally said that it would but that the reverse feature wouldn't work with my fan (which is what I expected).Because I didn't have a lot of confidence in the guy's expertise, before opening the packaging I was able to compare the eight (two sets of four) toggle switches with the eight on the remote. Seeing they were exactly the same, I took a shot. Installation took five minutes and it works perfectly.

It Does the Job
If you have a Minka Aire fan, you most likely control it with the remote, that you typically would keep *in* the room. This renders your wall switch fairly useless. This is why this mini remote that gets hardwired is great. You can turn the light on and off from the entry to the room. My only complaints involve the remote layout, which is an exact copy of the handheld remote, but shrunken down to fit in a single gang switch box. It's just not intuitive to walk into a room and grope for one of the two tiny redundant (for most fan models) buttons on the remote for the light. It's also host to perhaps the worst dimming mechanism ever designed, wherein you hold down the switch button and the light slowly fades up and down, with no indication of where the max and min are. It's as bad as the handheld remote, but smaller and on the wall. Also why don't Minka fans have a timer?Anyway it does what it's supposed to and you can use it in conjunction with a handheld remote.

Outstanding customer service
We had to replace the original remote due to wear and tear from a teenager. Anyway, I thought I had ordered an exact replacement as they looked identical however when it came in, the remote wouldn't connect with the fan. The owner had sent an email to see if we were 100% satisfied. I responded I was having a problem connecting. He asked for the model # for the fan and immediately sent a link for the correct remote needed. I packaged and returned it for full refund. The correct remote came in days. I put the battery in and voila! The fan and light both work. I higly recommend this company as their customer service is like no other I have ever received! Their products are very good quality as well.

Perfect replacement
My remote for my fairly expensive fan was no longer working. Itgot wet and Rusty. I searched on Amazon for a replacement. It came pretty quickly it was a little pricey but I wanted to make sure I got the right one. As soon as I put the batteries in, it worked. It is now over a year later and it still works like a charm and I use it every single day. I'm very happy with my purchase!
