Star Wars Crochet

Book is excellent, problems with yarn.
This is the fourth Star Wars crochet set I have done, the first with 4ply cotton yarn and a 2.25mm hook supplied. (All others used acrylic DK and 3.5mm hook) My first Star Wars kit was my introduction to amigurumi, and I picked it up successfully from the instructions in the pattern book. I found this book equally easy to follow and the characters are clearly recognisable and detailed for their size. The quality of the supplied yarn surpassed that of any of the acrylic yarn from previous kits, but there was insufficient of the nude yarn and every colour had been wound in such a way that it was prone to tangling as it unwound with use. Even trying to rewind it into balls before use was made difficult by this issue. Not an insoluble problem but a frustration and waste of time. Based on my experience of four of these kits, I would prefer to be able to buy the books separately and use my own materials, because all in all these puppets are well worth making.

Not suitable for beginners
This is a funny little kit for the Star Wars fanatic. The patterns are good IF you already have mastered basic amigurumi techniques. The materials aren’t great the yarn is not very generous and splits al the time which makes stitches this small very fiddly. There’s not enough materials to make the whole set.

Good but need patience
American instructions was the first challenge, insufficient nude cotton, and then too much black! Overall am pleased with the kit and the detailed instructions. Completed 5 and still going.

Cute
This is best for an experienced crafter. My daughter is self taught and couldn’t follow the written directions easily. And she hated having to choose who she would make since all cant be made with this kit.
