AlagaOriginal Cane Syrup 30 Oz

So glad I found this syrup. Lifelong favorite.

I grew up with my family using Alaga syrup. It’s hard to find in stores so I tried Amazon and they have it. Beats wasting gas driving from store to store. We love it!!

I have used Alaga since I can remember. My grandmother always had this in her house. I use this in my bbq beans and for any meal that needs syrup. It is thicker than normal syrup and I love the molasses type syrups.

Great product, good size bottle. My mother was raised down south and southerners love molasses. This is the only syrup my mother will use. She asks me to buy these for her all the time.

Grew up spending summers in Atlanta with my grandparents eating this syrup daily on my Grandmother's home-cooked meals. It reminds me of them and only good times

First let me say that I am 58 years young and I grew up eating this syrup. My dad was the one who got me hooked on this stuff and I am so glad he did. Now with that being said, let me tell you that there is something a little off about this syrup, I can't quite put my finger on it. I am praying that the recipe was not changed and maybe it's my aging tastebuds, but I'm afraid it did, however so very slightly. It's not as thick as the syrup I grew up on, I can guarantee you that, and that strong, delicious, distinctive Alaga taste, is no longer the same. It still tastes delicious, but there is a very subtle difference and those of you that grew up on this stuff will immediately taste the difference, as I did. I don't know why this syrup was taken off the store shelves. The stuff that I bought from the grocery stores tasted like the old school syrup. I was a little disappointed. I hate it when companies change their recipe from a classic to save money on their end and then think we wouldn't notice, I hope that was not the case here. I am going to continue to read the reviews to see if other people that grew up on this are saying the same thing. In closing, this is still a delicious syrup, just not "AS" delicious (in my humble opinion 😢)
