Guys, this was 14 freakin dollars, it's the best deal I've gotten all year
The pictures don't do justice because the detail is so insane my phone won't pick it up, but guys, the fairies have toes. The dragons have thumbs. The scrollwork on the unicorns, the definition of the feathers on the wings, the unicorn's manes and tails. They're all gorgeous, you're going to be amazed this costs so little. THIS is the cheap toy that will make your daughter ignore the expensive toys you bought for her this Christmas, and if you have more than one girl there's still no way they can fight over this, there's a million pieces.Altogether you get a castle front, there is a slide you connect to the back and you sit the castle on the lid of the tub, so that it looks like glittery blue water and the lid handle is a little bridge. There's also a gateway, another bridge that stands alone, plus six turquoise fences and six white fences. The rest are like girl versions of those little plastic army men, I got 4 purple dragons and a total of 12 fairies (4 each of 3 different fairies). There are also 20 unicorns (4 each of 5different kinds). One of the types of unicorns you get is a baby winged unicorn. On top of that, you get a huge pile of 18 white sets of wings that you stick on the unicorns to give them wings (6 each of 3 kinds). I don't know how to make it any plainer to you. There are no negatives to this purchase.

Expect only 4 dragons, 20 unicorns & 10 fairies per bucket. Rest is filler stuff!
All the great reviewed hyped my expectations. I bought these to top jar lids for party favors. In the end, there’s about 20 unicorns or various sizes, 4 dragons, 10 fairies and the rest are clip on wings and fences we don’t need. :( it’s my fault really for thinking 71 pieces meant there’s be 20 dragons/20 fairies/20 unicorns.Container looks big & full of toys but there’s a cardboard conical piece that’s empty in the middle and the toys are on the outer edge making the bucket look fuller than it is. All in all, if you want mostly fairies and unicorns (and don't care that there's only 4 dragons) you will probably be fine with it.

Good quality & so many pieces!
As another reviewer stated, these are like a fairies and unicorns version of those timeless little army guys. Cute. Simple. The castle is a bit small for the figurines (nothing is going to really fit inside it for play purposes)—its more for setting up the scene of a “magical kingdom”. But for all you get, it’s a great toy; I like that it has a nice clear bucket for storage and the lid was thoughtfully crafted to double as a small lake/pond with the lid’s handle serving as a bridge for the figurines to cross over the pond. Clever. There are a variety of wings Included that can be attached to the unicorns. My 4yo daughter squealed with delight when she opened it, asking multiple times if they were ALL hers. (Because there was seemingly so much in the bucket. Lol... and this is a child who wants for nothing. She has a large collection of expensive unicorn figurines and more toys than she knows what to do with.) The pieces are just simple, cheap, lightweight plastic but the quantity of pieces makes it very exciting for a kid to open up and explore. I’m sure she’ll get plenty of enjoyment from this set. They are well constructed and detailed and most importantly, they stand up properly. (I feel like sometimes these little plastic toys don’t stand up properly.) These are great!

Very detailed and a big hit!
These are SO detailed and cool! I bought them as a present but played with the birthday girl for a bit after she opened them. The container lid doubles as a pool with a bridge. It's really very cool.Pros:Very detailed and well made.Great variety of fairies, dragons, horses, unicorns, and attachable wings.Cons:Strong smell outta the package. Like an oil/lubricant/plastic smell. It made me a little sick to my stomach. Some of the wings didn't fit the horses well.

somewhat disappointing
Ok. The figures and other pieces are nice enough, although a trifle 2 dimensional. Piece count was supposed to be 71. This bucket had 72 pieces. Sounds good so far, but let's break it down. 4 terrain pieces, including a castle [the lid is a bonus piece, forming another large item of terrain]. 12 small fence pieces, ok. 16 winged figures, fairies, dragons, etc. 20 unicorns in several different poses. So far, so good, we've got 52 pieces. Here is where it falls down for me. The remaining 20 pieces are all ill fitting clip on wings for the unicorns. As far as I'm concerned, that's counting all those unicorns as 2 pieces, whether you use the wings on them or not. As far as I'm concerned, the piece count stands at 52. Disappointing. I'd rather have more figures and fewer unicorns with wings.

The wings are a waste but the rest are fun toys.
Pretty fun toy. My girls love playing with little figures. It smelled a bit when we first got it but seems fine now. I took off a star because about a third of the pieces are wings. I think we got more wings then the unicorns to put them on. The dragons and fairies already have wings. Plus the wings don't fit great. My four year old is always trying to get me to fix the wings. I wish they had just dropped the wings and added more other figures.

Nana-approved Hit of the Party.
Other reviewers were right. This might very well become your little one's favorite gift (and one of the most inexpensive). I purchased this as a gift for the big sister (7-year-old) of the birthday boy and she LOVED it. Even the 18 month old baby brother loved carrying the case around (it comes in a clear case with a convenient carry handle). Mom reports that "Big Sis" has been enjoying hours and hours of fun playing with her new fairy/unicorn kingdom. It's nothing high-tech or fancy but it sure is fun for a child obsessed with unicorns and fairies.
