Superb call quality
Update, the right earbud started buzzing when ANC is ON and is bad, unfortunately had to return. The stock is not available.Update as of 22nd Dec, the battery seems to be going down hill under the same usage conditions, less than 40% volume and single earbud use at a time, so no anc or ambient mode.I have finally concluded my search for the true wireless earbuds, exclusively for the purpose of calls.I have tried numerous earbuds and totally disappointed.LG TONE FREE UFP8 is just awesome outdoors, especially because of the whisper mode when out and about, my use was not even for the privacy of the conversation but more to do with the voice clarity for the person on the other end. I am so pleased with the overall quality.Conversation mode under the ambient mode is the best. Noise cancelling has never been an important feature nevertheless I am happy with the performance. I am no where near to an audiophile, I just watch YouTube or the prime videos, the 3d sound is brilliant. Another fantastic thing is the battery life, amazing is an under statement. I was not using noise cancelling or ambient mode, just normal mode, less than 40% volume, I was able to use more than 10 hours per earbud(update as of 14th Dec, I was wrong, the battery does not last 10 hours of usage, realistically after a weeks usage, it is more like 6 hours of use to talk and watching YouTube at the same volume as previously mentioned). With noise cancelling or ambient mode, the battery will drain faster, however wayyyy better than apple or other brands. The fit is absolutely fantastic and don't fall off. I have a huge issue with the fit for my left ear and extremely difficult to find the right earbuds, else I would have been very very happy with 1more comfobuds Pro. This pair straight off the box, superb fit. Just awesome.I am able to confidently recommend this pair of true wireless earbuds to anyone who is predominantly looking for call quality. Background noise is suppressed and not 100%, however it is not possible to suppress 100% on earbuds without distortion of voice. My voice is heard loud and clear on a busy London road with wind blowing, of course SOMETIMES, I mean very few times, there is a bit of loss in clarity and is at a very acceptable level on this pair. (Update as of 14th Dec, voice is very low when in a bus in London, having both earbuds in the ears, however the whisper mode does increase the clarity a lot although the background noise is not reduced a lot.)It is AWESOME. No more earbuds hunting for voice call quality in noisy environments. LG, A HUGE THANK YOU

WOW - These are keepers
I was a little dubious of going for a pair of LG Earbuds as I didn't know LG made them. We have an LG TV which I love and these looked pretty premium audio feature wise. Ideally I wanted a pair of headphones that I could use at home for work and the UV cleaner function looks sweet for the gym too so I thought I would give them a go. Really nice function as soon as I opened the carry case was the fact that they linked straight up to my laptop without any 'Press and hold this or click this twice and pray that they link up messing around' I was actually on a conference call when they arrived so I clicked on the pop up and boom, we were in. Really comfortable out the box and the audio was really good on the call, not tiring at all and no complaints from the guys on the call which must mean my mic was nice and clear too so win win. As soon as my meeting was finished I jumped straight into you tube to see what the 'Actual Listening' capability was like (The Weeknd followed by a bit of Skrillex) to see if they could cope with the volume that I normally enjoy music at. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised :O super clean audio reproduction and the Bass, mid and Treble levels were on point, no annoying rattles or tinny high hats, and some serious base handling. Super rich and warm sound on the whole which is surprising from the in ear form factor. All in all I'm really happy that I went for the LG ones in the end, interested to see what they are like in the gym but the way they canceled out my dogs barking when the door went again I think they should be pretty cool for zoning out on a 'Leg Day' session :D. Nice one LG - These are proper.

111 MONTHS REAL LIFE REVIEW OF TONE FREE UFP9
I have been using the LG UFP-9 for over 11 months now and as a result of this period, I now feel better placed to provide sufficient real-life review of my experience.Comfort - Being a person who takes hygiene very seriously the unique functionality of UV cleaning between charging sessions when the USB cable is plugged in to the case and Hypoallergenic grade ear bud tips was a welcomed first for me. Naturally I will still use antibacterial wipes periodically to clean the tips after removing them from the driver unit. Whilst addressing the tips they are extremely comfortable and did not cause any fatigue or hot spot on my ears when I conducted a 7-hours non-stop test. During this test once inserted I did not remove the earbuds until the battery died some 7 hours 32 mins later, with the left earbud giving up the ghost first. Around the 10% mark the units informs you that power is running low and needs to recharged. How long you have from here is naturally dependent on whether or not noise cancellation or ambient mode is enabled, the volume level of the music and the genre with bass depleting the power more rapidly. I covered 5KM of ground, climbed some 37 flights of stairs (Fitbit tracked) during this period only having to slightly repositioning the right ear once. I feel I should mention that I know both my ear canals are not exactly the same size, the slight difference was enough to upset the right more than the left whilst using the larger tips.Passive Noise - I found I needed to use the larger tips and not the medium to minimise the amount of passive noise heard whilst wearing them. However, this then resulted in, more or less each time I removed the Earbuds the tips inverted. This does cause an element of concern to how long they will last before they split or tear. I know most of you will say just buy another set of tips from the likes of Amazon but the issue here, the tips have a slightly lower profile. So if you use most regularly available earbud tips then the earbuds do not sit in the case preventing them from properly charging, and the case does not close. LG is not showing on their website (at the time of writing this) the option to purchase any replacement tips for their complete Tone range. The Tips from Liberty Air Pro are of a similar profile and therefore, are interchangeable. When these were fitted to LP UFP-9 it vastly improved the passive noise isolation and therefore, the general ANCANC - I felt that the noise cancellation on the FPU9 was reasonably sufficient at reducing the external ambient noise without changing the colour of the music or reduce your listening experience but does not isolate external noises as well as other brands at a similar price.Tube with ANC– The noise cancelling on the tube is not sufficient to completely immerse you in your music of choice at a moderate volume. The level of volume will naturally depend on what line you are on for example the district lines being quieter than the let’s say the Northern or Central, and where you sit or stand. The closer you are to the doors, the more the sound will invade your musical enjoyment.Walking with ANC - Average. When walking down the road you could hear just about enough car engine or tyre from a heavy 4x4 to not get run over. However, when I switch the bud tips to the medium from the Liberty Air 2, the passive noise isolation was a lot better and therefore the noise cancelation did leave you feeling far more isolated, without the effects some people suffer from when using the likes of Bose QC25 mkII or QC35. This would seem to prove that the noise cancellation algorithm is good, it is just more a case of the bud tips not giving a firm and tight enough seal in the ear canal, which is probably due to the Hypoallergenic grade material they are made from being extremely soft and flexible. I found myself having to switch to large to improve the fit but nearly every time I remove them from my ear they inverted. This made me wonder how long they are likely to last. Wind noise is an issue with any breeze above 8mph at virtually every angle.Calls & Text messages – I frequently found people struggled to hear me when making and receiving calls. Text messages were readout clearly, with a gentle muting and resuming of the music during the messages. Calls also received a nice introduction of the caller, taking their name from the address book. The telephone call issues might have been an early indication that my units were slightly defective and the left ear bud completely failed the day prior to posting this review (11months 12 days after receiving them, but I did not use the unit 3 weeks after getting them). My plan was we to write a 1-year review!ConclusionThe LG UFP9 provides a very rounded sound across multiple genres of music, but the factory tips are far too soft and as a result the ANC struggles more than it needs to. The audio quality is exceptional and the touch controls on the buds work extremely well, with no noticeable delays. I would like to see LG offering a size fit test via the LG Tone Fee application. Assuming these get replaced I will continue my test of these little beauties that weight in at only 5.333g per bud. Final note, the Case well made, small and fits with ease and comfort in your pocket but the serial number wears out with use.

If you have a nickel allergy, these are the earbuds for you!
If wearing true wireless earbuds gives you a rash inside your ears, you may suffer from an allergic reaction to nickel. The LG Tone Free FP8 buds are the first that I can wear with no irritation at all, and I've tried several brands. When I got my first pair of wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Buds Pro, I ended up with rash so severe I had to see a dermatologist to get antibiotics. There were enough people who reported getting rashes from the Buds Pro that Samsung refunded my purchase and medical expenses with no fuss.I'd never heard of nickel allergies before (I don't wear jewelry or big belt buckles, which can also cause rashes because of their nickel content), and because I'd used so many pairs of wired earbuds with no problems, I thought this was a one off.So, the next year, I got the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, thinking that Samsung would have corrected whatever caused the problem. But after just a couple of minutes wearing them, I felt the beginnings of the rash coming on. I also tried the Beats Studio Buds, with the same results. It was at this point I did more research, and learned that nickel could be the culprit, and it's commonly used in the charging connectors of true wireless earbuds. Would I be stuck with wired earbuds forever?Luckily, I found some people with nickel allergies who reported that the LG Tone Free FP9 earbuds didn't give them any problems. The Tone Free line has features for health-conscious customers - the ear tips are made of medical grade silicon (some people suffer from silicon allergies) and the case uses UV light to kill bacteria on the ear mesh. I decided to try this model, the FP8's, because the case features Qi wireless charging. And, no rash! The remaining feature set matches up with other premium wireless earbuds: noise canceling and ambient modes, touch controls, charging case, low latency game mode, and an equalizer. It also has a unique "whisper mode" in which you take the earbud out and hold it close to your mouth, if you're in a quiet place but have to make a call.I can't really compare how these features line up to other earbuds (because I can't use others) - I can just say that they work for me. And that I'm so happy to finally have wireless earbuds that I can actually wear!

Not AirPod pro killers but great sound quality!
I bought these because I was looking to replace my lost AirPod pro’s. My conclusion is that these are a very good pair of TWS earbuds but the noise cancelling is not on par with AirPod pro’s. There is a humming sound that I hear while the cancellation is on, it is a bit annoying but not significant enough for me to return them. My wife has a pair of galaxy buds 2 and even though these sound better the noise cancelling is actually better on the galaxy .The ambient mode works really well and I can hear voices clearly when it ison . They do sound fantastic, especially when you are able to adjust the eq on the app to your liking.I actually think these sound better then the first gen AirPod pro’s, even though the pro’s have bigger drivers. This supposedly also has some sort of spatial Audio but in my use I didn’t notice that functionality. The app is awesome but crashes sometimes and you can only use the eq settings on your phone.I tried pairing this to my projector and I couldn’t use the eq settingsFinal Thoughts:I do like these but I still miss my AirPods Pro’s because of some the features like spatial audio and because I’m in the ecosystem. (Bare in mind these are also less expensive than the AirPods)So for the price and some of the features you really can’t beat the value.
