I absolutely love the Passion Translation! As a Bible college student pursuing a Masters in Biblical Studies, it's the perfect tool and it's so fun to read that I can't put it down. Divided into books, it makes it easier to read a whole book of the Bible ( for example, the whole book of Ephesians, or the whole book of Romans in one sitting) at one time so the reader can have a better understanding of the author's original intent. As expected with any new translation, there is some controversy and discussion over whether or not this is a paraphrase or an actual translation. Please do not form an opinion based on reviews from anyone on the Internet. I encourage you to download the free book of John from ThePassionTranslation.com and decide for yourself. I had my professor who has a PhD in Theology and Spiritual Formation from Princeton review it so that I could use it in class and he confirmed it as a translation. I love the footnote at the bottom of the pages that describe the cultural context as well as nuances of the original languages of Aramaic, Hebrew, or Greek accordingly. I truly feel this is the translation for "such a time as this" both appropriate for our generation and the current condition of the church.

I love the passion translation. The wording speaks my language, helps me so much to understand, and is truly inspiring. For me this is a must-have translation to have for all my Bible studies. It is very beautifully written and I believe it encompasses the heart of God in the way it is translated.

I LOVE THE PASSION! Brian Simmons so beautifully wrote this translation and was definitely inspired by Holy Spirit. I love the footnotes and tracing back words to it's original meaning. I cannot wait for more to come out! This is also the best deal buying the 12 in 1. One of the best investments I've made :)

I love the commentary and the introductions to each book just as much. Found myself even pondering the author's reason for translating a word in such a way that he did. Sounds like this author has given much prayer into what he has translated. Yahweh is ultimately the inspiration and Author.

In truth, my wife should be writing this review, because I got this for her. Just let me say this...she loves it. I also got her the single volume version to put it all in a common binding, and so she could carry it to church. But the pages in that version are very thin and don't lend themselves for being written on or highlighted (IMHO). So, she is reading and studying with this one and carrying the other to church. She has thoroughly enjoyed this presentation of the New Testament. I hope the plan is to do this same treatment for all the Old Testament.

The passion has changed the way I read the Bible. Its like reading the Bible again for the very first time. Its written so very beautifully with great insight and back stories and explanations.

I gifted this set to my parents for Christmas to supplement their daily devotional time and they LOVE this set. When I visit with my dad he now always has new found knowledge of the Word and likes sharing about the root words he is learning about among other wonderful things. I couldn't be happier with this purchase!

I love reading the Bible. Been studying it for years. I am not exaggerating when I say I probably have at least 30 Bibles of different translations. This is my favorite. All these people who say "it's not a true translation", just ignore them and get this Translation, you will NOT be sorry. Can't wait for more.

The books took ages to get but the wait is fully worth it! If you struggle trying to read and understand the Bible these books would be an excellent resource. They are easy to read and beautifully explained.

This is such a delightful and easy to read version of the Bible. It speaks from the heart to the heart! I really recommend to anyone who is remotely interested in Christianity that you 'get stuck in' with the Passion Translation! Once again, the delivery service was impeccable!

The explicit description of words elucidate the intimate and heart touching feelings of Jesus and the love for good and lovely aspects of God and life. A comparative study of the Passion translation along with the King James Version, renders a insight filled delve into meaning.
