No more "Low battery" warning when not using batteries!
You read that title right. I've been troubleshooting a problem with my Roland AX-Edge for the past several months where, randomly, it would start telling me the battery was about to die and then power off, despite not having batteries in the compartment. My Edge is out of warranty, and I couldn't afford to take it to a tech only to have them tell me the whole internal logic board needed replacing (the usual answer, from my research, so I figured, I'll try a new power supply first and see if that's the problem - and it was. So happy to not have to constantly swap batteries every 2-3 hours when I have an outlet handy.I know people complain about them being overpriced, but it's not as bad as it used to be. I have an old GK synth that requires an $80 proprietary cable, and it's just a proprietary MIDI transfer cable, nothing special about it. So, $40 to get a PSB that has a Roland warranty is worth it.

Genuine Roland Adapter
I bought this to replace a psb-1u adapter for a Roland Gaia and everything is working as expected, this adapter is made in Japan and is definitely higher quality than the half priced knockoffsI know paying $40 for a power adapter can seem like a ripoff, but sometimes when you buy aftermarket items claiming to be compatible, there can be issues. And especially for electronic devices, I don't want to fry my gear because I was trying to save $20..

Adequate and Option-free
This unit seems adequate. I bought this unit because I needed it to power my Roland-Cakewalk A-800PRO Keyboard controller which at the time was malfunctioning. I thought that the malfunction might be because it uses USB-power to run. I reasoned that if instead I powered it directly using the DC power input, the problem I had might be remedied.Turns out the problem with the A-800PRO was not fixed by this power supply. But the PSB120 Power Supply did work with no problems. In the long run the A-800PRO was repaired in LA at the main repair facility under warranty and I have not needed this unit since. The PSB120 Power Supply seems to work as expected and I have no complaints. This product is a product in one of those one-of-a-kind niches that has no options. If you use the A-800PRO, you have to use this unit. Roland has seen to that by designing the voltage and physical form-factor such that you have no other option. This really makes ratings moot, because there is nothing to compare to. Anyway all the best.
