Classic suitcase vinyl record player in 5 different colours
This EastRock portable suitcase turntable is modelled on the classic ‘Crosley Cruiser’ style record player and is virtually identical to the Cruiser, using the same size casing and turntable/arm mechanism, faux leather covering and metal corner protectors. There are many other similar models to the Crosley, often only distinguishable by the brand name which is usually printed on the inside of the flip up lid. This EastRock model is well finished, and available in five colours – red, blue, black, rice white and brown. I’m looking at the blue model which is a nice gentle pastel colour. The corners are protected by silver metal tabs, there is a single locking clasp and hinged handle, all finished in silver metal. The specification is largely the same as others – ON/OFF rotary switch working as volume control, bluetooth switch (the record player can be used as a bluetooth speaker for external sources), 3.5mm headphone socket, 33, 45 and 78 RPM speed selector with 45 record insert included. Inputs at the back are mains input (cable included), AUX in and USB inputs (to play music from an external source).Sound quality is as expected from a basic turntable with two small 3W speakers on the front and only a couple of watts of power output. The sound is a bit thin and tinny, with not much bass but it does push out a respectable amount of volume, certainly sufficient for a medium sized room.HiFi magazines and website reviews rarely rate these type of portable turntables above ‘poor’ in terms of sound quality, and many suggest that they suffer from heavy tracking (the weight of the needle pressing down on the record) and could wear out or damage the record. There is no tracking adjustment to compensate for this but it is possible to add some weight (perhaps a little blue tack) to the other end of the arm to compensate and lighten the needle force on the record.Suitcase turntables like these may not be the best piece of equipment for those with treasured vinyl collections, but for older records or for easily-available low cost second hand ones it’s a great way to get into/return to vinyl. Record collections can be preserved and treasured, but no substitute for playing and enjoying them. It’s low cost and ‘LoFi’ but it’s also stylish, retro, portable and loads of fun.

Retro Record Player
This EastRock record player is supplied in a sturdy box complete with a power cable and power supply, a spare stylus and instructions. It is a portable suitcase styled turntable. There are other similar models offered with different brand names and functionality but using the same basic case and design. This is powered via a USB power supply and does not have a rechargeable battery like some other models. This is a review of the black record player but it is also available in blue. It has a hinged lid that has to be opened to use it with a single metal clasp to secure it. The corners have metal protectors on each of them to stop them being damaged and to complete the suitcase style. On the back there is a socket for power as well as RCA line out for external speakers and a 3.5mm Aux-In socket.Inside there is a small turntable and stylus arm with one of the supplied styluses fitted. This can be locked in place if required for travel. A rotary switch works as both a volume control and an on/off switch and there is a function button and up and down buttons. There are small switches to select the speed between 33, 45 and 78 RPM and a single record insert for "jukebox" style singles with a large centre hole. There is also a 3.5mm headphone socket and a USB interface for a memory stick. I can find no reference in the instructions for this being able to digitise records with suitable software and I would suggest a higher quality turntable if you require this function. There are two small speakers set in the front of the unit and facing forward. The operation is manual although there is a damped cueing arm to help you position the stylus on the record. This one is similar to others I have tried and prone to "jumping" although some of this may be down to the age of my records but our better quality Hitachi turntable manages to play them without skipping. There are no tracking or stylus pressure adjustments to compensate for this but it did manage to play most of the records I tried it with. If set to Auto the turntable stops at the end of the record. The sound quality is limited by the two small 3W speakers on the front but even through external speakers is not the best but fine for fun use. This model does support playing music from a Bluetooth or USB source but I would question the usefulness of this as the sound quality is not the best but the function is there if you need it.This record player is a great way to revisit your old record collection that may have been gathering dust in the loft. It is reasonably priced and quick and simple to set up and use. It will play a wide range of records and can even be used to output digital music via USB or Bluetooth. However the sound quality is limited and if you want to make the most of your collection you may want to upgrade to a better quality one.

Tinny sound
A budget record player with budget speakers and sounds tinny. HOWEVER. It does let you listen to the old vinyl from the attic. It stores away well too so doesn't eat up space. Just a bit disappointed with the sound which could have been so much better with so little extra expense.

Top enjoyment of music using this retro record player
The media could not be loaded. I like this portable record player very much. When I opened it, I found that it was very textured, the workmanship was very fine, and the design was very retro but also very avant-garde. I really like the color combination inside. I believe that the sound quality with the slide rail is definitely an advanced enjoyment, especially when playing in my own room. This electric turntable can be connected via Bluetooth to play songs, which can meet different needs. The after-sales service of this electric record player is really good, almost completely considering the needs of different users. I am very satisfied!
