One of the best primarch books.

Un bouquin qui m'a surpris par sa construction, originale et bien pensée, très différente de ce que Black Library produit d'ordinaire.On suit la vie de Konrad Kurze depuis sa chute sur Nostramo, jusqu'à sa fin aux mains de l'assassin M'Shen. Et si il ne fait aucun doute que Kurze est un psychopathe totalement barré, il s'avère qu'il n'est pas que ça... et qu'il a une conception très personnelle de la Justice. Extrême, mais pas maléfique... même si c'est aussi et surtout un moyen d'assouvir des pulsions sadiques de tortures toutes plus atroces les unes que les autres.Nighthaunter est un personnage vraiment complexe et contradictoire, ce qui le rend particulièrement riche et intéressant. Et ce bouquin lui rend vraiment bien hommage, et montre à quel point sa Légion est un ramassis de salopards.Un (petit) bémol tout de même: si l'ouvrage semble essayer d'embrasser toute la vie de Konrad Kurze/Nighthaunter, il fait l'impasse sur des moments importants, notamment avec Vulkan (ou alors, n'ayant pas encore atteint ce point dans HH, il y a un twist dont je ne suis pas encore au courant?).Mais dans l'ensemble, un très bon moment de lecture, et clairement un must-have si vous êtes fan des Night Lords.

This book got me to like the Night Lords legion a lot more as it dives deep into Curze's homeworld Nostramo and the just how seeped in corruption it is and how that affected him and his warriors as they fought in the crusade. Even though the primarch becomes utterly insane, you can see his slow decline into that instability and I couldn't help but feel bad for him. As one of the Primarchs gifted with the ability to see the future, Curze's use of the power is cynical and sad as he gives himself up to fate.

If someone makes you feel sorry for a monster like Konrad Curze, then it must be a worthwhile read.It is an engrossing tale of how the Night Haunter and his legion's warped perception of justice led them on a path to their own damnation.This was a great insight to the VIII Legion's haunted primarch, something which has sadly been lacking from other novels in the Primarch series. No regrets on this purchase... even the cover art is insanely good!
