Before starting the review I’d like to say thanks to URayTech support (Linda) who has been fantastic answering a question I had prior to purchasing the device and some I have had since regarding settings and configuration.The encoder comes with the required power supply which is really helpful. For me it was a case of connecting to my router and then the input to my set top box and then pass-thru to my TV. I initially had a problem where the pass-thru output had an odd purple tinge and the BT Pro YouView set top box was saying unsupported format in the picture output settings, but after a quick chat with Linda she advised me to change the EDID setting in the advanced menu which fixed the problem instantly and allowed the encoder to run at the correct 1920x1080p@50fps rather than 640x480p@60fps which it had been defaulting to.With regards to the encoding, all I can say is wow! I’m using the H265 Main profile VBR Best @ 3200kbps and I can’t tell the difference between the pass-thru TV output and another TV receiving the .ts stream via VLC on an Amazon Fire Stick. With this setup I have never noticed the CPU go above 5% so I think you could run multiple streams at once with no overheating problems.

I bought this item after a lot of research into various ways of broadcasting a TV box around my home. I already have an ethernet network around my house and wanted a way of accessing live and recorded content from the TV box anywhere my network can reach.I can say this device hits the nail on the head - having tried a number of these devices to little success I was hoping for success here and it delivers. You can easily customise the streams to get a good balance of quality and bandwidth, it covers the latest codecs for higher efficiency (H.265/HEVC), with H.264 for compatibility, and in a few weeks of testing I have had no major dropouts or issues. It supports multiple protocols allowing it to work with most receivers. Latency is in the order of a couple of seconds, which still enables use of menus and other functions on the box.Once configuring the device I can now watch all of my TV anywhere from the house, including using apps like VLC on mobile devices. Exactly what I was looking to do and more! I would highly recommend for anybody looking to share a single HDMI input and broadcast it around the house. The uses are almost unlimited and I'm now looking into further receivers so I can set up a one-to-many streaming service over IP, saving me significant expense on new TV boxes. Thanks URayTech!

Very simple to use, can adjust to quality, bitrate and size on the fly to best suit the bandwidth available to you.

I bought this item in conjunction with a Broadlink RM Mini3 to replace a Slingbox which will become non-functional later this year. It was fairly easy to set up following the instructions that came with it. I suspect that I will only use a small percentage of its functionality.

Delivery on time and works as intended ie. Takes a HDMI source and streams it on my LAN so I can pick it up several computers or devices iPhone etc using VLC media player. Adjusted the bit rate for better quality image and strong cbr. All good.

Arrived in a bag not a box and with no documentation and no power supply.As such next to useless

Purchased this as a replacement for my slingbox. Works great, picture quality way better than the slingbox.Would recommend this product very highly. There are many (a lot!) of different settings in the management console, most of which are not described in the manual. It would be nice to understand what they all do, but in reality I don't think there is any need to change the vast majority of settings.

This is brilliant for streaming some HD video around a home network or even tying it to a server for remote viewing (like a slingbox used to do but without the need for their defunct 3rd party server provision).The instructions are pretty good and explain initial setup to get you configured.It's remarkably flexible with multiple stream output options. The interface is basic but highly functional. I have no complaints at all.
