fit a server in my 4 post short rack
says what it does, does what it says. you'll get some sag if you use it in extension mode, I had a spare structural support piece that I put one rackspace below my server on the backside that keeps it level.

These are GREAT!
These are perfect for open racks when you don't want the patch panel jumper cables to stick out in front of the rack. You simply recess the patch panel and if you have a switch that is rack mounted you can recess the switch as well. This means your connections are protected in high traffic areas. They are also nice in closed racks as well so that your wires don't get squashed by the closed glass door.

Nice finish, pictures look a little deceiving.
The finish is nice, seems well built. I bought this to mount a shelf, from the inside rails (not the ones facing out, front or back). I believed this to be an adapter that would allow you to bring something over half an inch (width wise) as my inner rails (all four of them) are wider by half an inch, so I wanted to restore the 1u width by using these adapters, but unfortunately I missed out that these are simple extensionso not adapters as the bend of the metal translates the holes forward/backwards along the same axis as the mounting holes so in effect the bracket is in the shape of an N. Where as I wanted the shape of an _|``. I am able however to reshape the metal with an anvel, some tape and a hammer, which I will, not what I wanted, the pictures could be more clear, but it will work eventually. Again, the part has a nice finish to it, hopefully the paint is well fixed to the metal.

Works well for stage boxes
Ideal for rack enclosures with a fixed depth. I used 4 (2 on each side) to accommodate the weight. Most AV equipment doesn't compensate for the I/O being plugged in from the front. Can work either direction inwards or outwards. Should go without saying, but make sure you put the cage nuts on the correct way before you mount anything to it.

Great for fitting an APC battery in a Tripp-Lite rack
This worked perfectly and saved me sending back a battery back up unit.

Sturdy but not enough clearance
I got this to extend one rack component out to the back a bit (I could have reconfigured the whole rack since it was length adjustable but didn't want to throw out and re-do a custom made wooden top I had fabricated for it). It works but mounting it is a bit awkward. Plus no matter how you fix it to the rack, it adds just enough thickness so that my component wouldn't properly clear the back mounting bracket anymore. Took a lot of finagling to make that happen. That's its only design flaw as far as I can see. Other than that did what it was supposed to do.

Worked great.. better than expected
I have a 4 post cabinet that was just a few inches too shallow to mount the DELL rack rails for my server. I put these on the back of the rack to extend it, and the rack rails connected right to it.. Sturdy as if it was supposed to be like this.. I'd have no reservations about using these on every server in the rack..

Using these brackets works both for extending a device out from the rack but also if you want to recess a device inside of the rack - for example a power strip. Pricy but work as advertised and I see no sag for my Switch and Router that I'm using these on.

Funktioniert einwandfrei.
