Erin Stanton has created beautiful portraits of senior dogs and the humans who rescue ...
In a society where we too often value youth over longevity in both humans and pets, Erin Stanton has created beautiful portraits of senior dogs and the humans who rescue them. I've followed Susie's Senior Dogs almost since its beginning and, like thousands of others, have been delighted and moved by its nationwide effort to move older dogs from countless shelters and animal control facilities into loving homes. The book showcases some of the hundreds of success stories, accompanied by wonderful portraits of the "lucky dogs". I pre-ordered three copies which arrived yesterday and already need to reorder, as I gifted two of them to friends who both recently lost senior dogs. Get one for yourself and several to give away- I can't think of anyone who wouldn't be thrilled to receive such a heartwarming and meaningful gift.

Lots of love and senior snout close-up pix
This book is filled with stories of varying lengths, some several pages, about senior dogs and their humans who brought them to their new home. Photos of the awesome pooches compliment the text, including closeups of doggy snouts. I wanna kiss them! A few are professional shots but most are those taken by the families, shelter workers, and fosters. It's easy to see the stories are written by the individual contributors, each of their voices distinct. What they share in common is their love of these senior pups who need and deserve good homes and families.A story contributed by someone who regularly volunteers at their local shelter is emotional and informative. She gives it to you straight but never loses sight of the love, the reason she does the difficult but 100% necessary tasks. Both of the Stantons also contributed. I already knew some of the origin story of SSD and I liked getting more insight. I've been following Susie's Senior Dogs on Facebook since the beginning, I think. I have a vague memory of Brandon posting about Susie and the idea she had inspired in Erin. That over 500 senior dogs have been adopted thanks to SSD... Erin and everyone that has become a part of the network of shelters and fosters and adopters, they're all doing their part to make this world a better place, for dogs and humans alike. This book is printed here in the U.S., and 100% of all profits are being put back into helping these senior snugglers find their forever humans. <3

Happy tears!
Such a cute and sweet book! I've followed Susie's senior dogs for years and am happy Erin released a book with such amazing stories of animal rescue. I bought one for my sister too and she loves it! She cried when she opened. We're both pretty big softies when it comes to animal rescue. Also, 100% of the proceeds go to animal rescue!

LOVE THIS BOOK
Oh, PLEASE, buy this book. The proceeds benefit senior dog rescue organizations, but besides that, this is a WONDERFUL book for all ages. The stories are not sad - they are heartwarming and uplifting. Children would greatly benefit from this book; it shows them that while maybe a senior dog isn't as "pretty" or "cute" as a puppy, there are lots of benefits of adopting a senior - they give you unconditional love and ask for nothing but a safe, happy home in return, plus they are already trained! Buy this book then curl up on the couch and read it - you won't put it down until you get to the last story!

LOVE!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this book!!! I follow Susie's Seniors on instagram and so many stories are so heartbreaking....I get so upset. But I keep following to find out who got adopted next and who finally found their forever homes. I love seeing these dogs get their happy endings and I love seeing the amazing humans that not only rescued these beautiful animals but who also found their forever dogs.As soon as I found out I can help by purchasing a book ( I already have 2 dogs) I placed my pre-order immediately on Amazon. All the profits go to Susie's charity to help all shelter dogs. The book was delivered last night. I thought the book was going to be good. I was wrong... This book is great! It's sad, heart warming, funny and it brought tears my eyes seeing the photos of all the dogs and reading about finding their forever homes. It warms my heart that each day another dog is rescued. If you're like me and you want to help but can not adopt at this time, please purchase this book. The stories are great and it's all for a very good cause.Thank you to Suies's Seniors for continuing to help save every dog and I look forward to the next book!Kimberly

5 Stars is not Enough
This is not the type of book you just browse one day and leave it in your coffee table to collect dust. This book is truly inspiring and allows you to see beauty in a new way. Beauty in older dogs, beauty in their diverse personalities, beauty in the hearts of the humans featured, but most of all, beauty in the power of opening your heart and allowing yourself to love and be loved; to save a life and be saved by that life.I have been following Susie's mom and her incredible work on Facebook for a little while and I can tell you that some of the stories shared in their page have really touched me. When reading this book, be ready to share an awww, a laugh, a tear of joy, and be ready to be inspired to make a difference. This is the book you want near you after a bad day! It will renew your faith in humanity.Erin is a great writer and has an incredible heart. Remember, 100% of the profits of the book are going to help homeless dogs find their happy ending. It's a win-win all around!

Beautiful tribute to old dogs
Beautifully done book...Susie was the tiny but strong catalyst for Erin's senior dog advocacy. The book is charming and heartbreakingly lovely.
