In the English-speaking part of the world I grew up in, the United States, a beanie was always a kind of headwear not at all likely to be mistaken for for a stocking cap, and the reverse was also true. If I had actually intended to order beanies, I would certainly have been distressed to receive stocking caps instead.Now don't get me wrong: the stocking caps I received, though perhaps a bit abbreviated for my Big Giant Head, are entirely satisfactory as stocking caps, which is what I was shopping for. But it's hard to be optimistic about a world in which it's been decided to refer to stocking caps as beanies for absolutely no reason. If I wanted galoshes, would I have to shop for spats? And what is someone who actually wants to buy beanies supposed to do?

These were comfy but unfortunately, they were so LONG on my tiny girl head. I could hide a small bag of chips in the beanie and still have leftover room. Sadly had to return them because they looked funny on me. The material felt high quality and definitely warm on the inside.
