Great for starting out
This is the perfect gear to start out in electric drumming. Not a repalcement for an acoustic kit!!! The feel is not the same. You can learn your basics and be super portable. You can add real pedals to learn how to work your feet. The only reason i returned it bcause there was not enough pads for what I needed and the sound are not as good as more expensive pads. The entry level price is was make this a perfect fit for any begener.

Very happy with this multipad!
Very cool percussion piece. It has 50 presets, but really many more as you adjust the tuning. So although it lists only one Tom instrument, you can program all four pads to Tom and adjust the tuning to create four unique Tom sounds, or of course use it to trigger midi sounds on your computer. The preset sounds in this machine are excellent, they're not a 100% authentic acoustic drum sound, but no electronic drum ever will be. Still, the sounds in this machine are better than most low-end electronic kits, and you can really shape the sounds with tuning, sensitivity and reverb, plus even further if you are running it into an amp.

A Great Drum Pad With Decent Sounds. But MIDI is Flawed.
I love this drumpad for hand drumming. It has decent sounds and decent build quality. However the midi features are really flawed and there is no technical support whatsoever. This will not work with most drum vsts and software etc. Because it only outputs o zero millisecond note lengths. This causes it to not be able to trigger a large portion of drum samples and vsts etc. There is no way of changing the note length so you are almost limited to using just the onboard sounds. I hope they can fix this but it's been out for a while and no support exists. Can't recommend this for use with and type of midi devices whether software vsts or USB midi etc.

Great Machine
The media could not be loaded. Sounds great. Definitely worth the money and a must for soloists

Good sounds, easy to play. A little wonky in some areas though.
These things dont hold up under heavy use. 2 units broken within 2 years plus the ac adapters dont hold up either. BUT This little drum did help me reinvent my little musical group. It is very simple and allows hand playing for novices or world percussionists looking to have a simple jam. The main problem is the sensitivity of the pad triggers. They require precise hits on the pad or else you wind up with missed hits and beats. Also the triggers occasionally bleed over into other pads which is annoying. The quality isn't pro-level , very plastic-y. My stand mount is cracked after less than a year of use. When using an external kick pedal ( the Kat or some other aftermarket ones) , the bass drum is very nice. Good thump. When patched into a PA , the drum sounds great and doesn't sound too fake or amateur. Some of the sounds aren't great but the basics are all there. And the world percussion sound is worth the price alone. Every acoustic drummer should have this in their arsenal.

Love this.
I write and record my own music, and was sick of programming drums through the SR-16. It was to the point that I had projects I wasn't going to finish because I hated that process so much. The KAT has completely changed that.I purchased this to use as a midi interface with a SR-16 drum machine so that I could play the parts while recording. I'm not a drummer so I usually play one part, maybe two, at a time. It worked perfectly with that using the midi out from this into the SR-16. That being said, I really like some of the drum sounds right out of this thing. For my needs, I pretty much have stopped using the SR-16 and just use the built in sounds of the KAT.As other's have mentioned, the downside is that there is no recall function. I usually leave the pads assigned to the same sounds, so it's not that big of a deal. When I do change them, I have written down the settings so moving back is not time consuming. This works for home recording. If you're trying to switch live, it will be more challenging. At that point, I'd recommend using the midi into another device, and switching scenes on the secondary device. I will probably never use this live, but that's what I'd do if I had to use more than 4 sounds.***I am using this for surf/rock drums. I'm not a drummer and don't use complicated drum parts. A better drummer could probably get way more out of this, but for what I need, this works perfectly.

In love
This is such a great way to express and detox for me. I’m going to have so much fun with this while making content for my platforms.

Very Decent choice for basic E drum-pad
I really love this drumpad. Very fun to play. I get decent out put paired with my amp. Very simple controls, easy to figure out. Lightweight, easily fits in my backpack to transport to my group jam session. I'm not the dedicated drummer of the group but I'm capable to fill in in a pinch when our real drummer isn't available. The only Con: Is it's very basic. Kick drum, snare, ride but no crash, No exotic sounds except for a Shaker, type noise, no variety, no cowbell, no footpedal included ( must be bought sepetately)..Great buy compared to a similar pad for hundreds more.
