Great "entry" level gaming laptop
I try to find reasons not to like whatever I do end up committing too. This is one of those electronic/computer purchases that I haven't felt scammed in one way, shape or form. The SSD drive is absolutely lighting fast. I mean it is incredible how far we've come in such a short time. I had an ASUS duo core processor with 4GB of Ram that brought me 6 wonderful years of joy but, this here, this boot up time omg! What a world of a difference my goodness. My particular buy is the signature series that comes without any (and I mean NONE) bloatware which probably makes the boot up time so freakin' fast. I know I'm making it a big deal but I feel compelled too because if your like me who came from a none gaming laptop to this "cross" platform laptop gaming rig you'll understand. I'm still stunned every time I press the button. Like press, boop, sign in screen. As your reading this, that is the speed... Yup. The IPS matte screen is beautiful and does not disappoint at all. ASUS is known for being a provider of some of the best, world class monitors and they made no exceptions here for sure. Get yourself a mouse so you won't have to even worry about the pad everyone is fussing about. I never had any issues with it but then again, I went with a mouse a month after my purchase. Now, if you order yourself one make sure you do the following: Download Razer Cortex (free app), update the NVIDIA drivers, change your control panel settings to optimal performance & experience this beast of a laptop run older games at max and newer games at medium to high settings with ease. When the hardware is being pushed, the Razer Cortex program and NVIDIA drivers work in conjunction to give you the best possible gaming experience on the laptop's, internally provided 8 GB of RAM. It is a game changer and why I posted it here because of my marvelous experience with it. Also, it will run loud when a game demands juice to keep things operating at normal temps, so I recommend getting yourself a cooling pad just in case. So far I have had this bad boy for about 8 months and I have grown fond of how it effortlessly handles my every day computing tasks and gaming needs. If you are on the fence and worried about "future proofing" yourself always remember that there isn't such a laptop that can provide this. Everything is etched in permanently, hence why I believe this is an excellent "entry" level gaming laptop. Not too much & not too little, it packs a punch with the right program on its side and doesn't leave you feeling robbed. Too me, it was worth every penny.

Great laptop! few problems but still great
I love this product. I got it Cyber monday for $629.99 as a lightning deal. I rated the item 5 stars because i recommend it to everyone but i had a personal problem that made me frustrated.Pros: fast. really fast 512 SSD for the price I paid is great. everything loads super fast that plus the gtx 960m with 4gb made it seem like it was an amazing price. seeing 960m everywhere else the price is over 900 but this also has the ssd which made the price even better. 799 wasnt even a bad deal. The keyboard is great way better than my last laptop. i love typing on it and its smooth. Screen display is great and the lightup keyboard is great too. plus its just an over all beautiful laptop. from the red designs on the back of the laptop to around the keyboard it looks great!Cons: function keys. this isnt one to change rating but a personal preference. my last lenovo i had for a while was automatically on inverted function keys so i didnt have to use them to use the volume, airplane mode, disable screen etc. but i checked for hours and as a asus rep, and there is no way to invert the function keys, not even in BIOS. so it is a pain controlling volume and things. Next thing that happened was on the first day my file explorer froze a few times, but after i updated windows it never happened again. the volume seemed to be really muffled but that can be changed in the audio manager it comes with ( i do not recommend the media mode it sucks) and the biggest problem i mentioned at the top was the touch pad.The touchpad is pretty bad. the feel is bad. i misclick A LOT and does not work when trying to use casually especially trying to edit a paper. it has become a very big pain. Today i had a problem where some how my computer had a crash and restart and on reboot the mouse pad went out. so i had to plug in a mouse and locate the problem only to find out that the driver completely disappeared and i had to ask an asus rep what to do and solved it. but it still took a few hours.Though the problems seem like a lot, it really still is a great laptop which is why I still gave it 5 stars. plus i havent seen anyone have the same problems as me other than crapy mouse pad so i would still definitly recommend this laptop
