Infinite Air - PlayStation 4

It took me about 4 hours to get a good grasp of the controls
Infinite Air is a difficult game to learn. It took me about 4 hours to get a good grasp of the controls. The game uses the triggers to preload rotations. Unlike other snowboarding games you can not slow down a quick rotation mid air so getting the correct preload is important. You do have the ability to cat twist and tweak your board to clean up a landing. Carving in this game is initially confusing with Carves, Butters and reverts all on the left stick. There is also an ollie system ripped straight from the skate series and to make it more confusing you can flick the left stick in a direction after an ollie to spin. Flicking the is used mostly for rails and jibs with the finer trigger controls for large jumps. The difficulty of the game makes landing tricks extremely rewarding. Small tricks like a popping a 180 off of a butter and tweaking it mid air feels almost as fun as on the slope. I've even done some bonks of rocks and trees with the object reversing my rotation. This is a game that is difficult to master and more rewarding for it.There is no real campaign mode or story. In it's place is only a short set of challenges that only unlock cosmetic items after completed. This game is not for the trophy hunter who wants a list of objectives to complete. With basically an unlimited amount of procedural mountains, and exploration is where enjoyment is found. There is also a really good mountain creation system. I haven't spend much time creating my own, but using the map browser I have played on many runs made by other players. Some of the best parks in the game have been made by players. This game definetly has some rough edges, most notably with the visuals. The graphics are pleasant, but there is pop in when multiple lines are put into the snow over the top of each other and there are dips in the frame rate. There is multiplayer, but only 2 players can ride together. The game would also benifit from a better tutorial system and a story mode.Overall Infinite Air is the best realistic snowboarding game I have played. It has actually unseated my previous favorite game Amped 2.

Not addicting or in-depth, and too many rocks, but a decent game overall
I'm happy with the purchase. I bought this game a little over a year ago. I haven't found it to be very addicting at all, in part because there doesn't seem to be much to it and it can be frustrating always running into rocks on the way down the mountain. There shouldn't be quite as many rocks in my opinion.Despite these things, it's a nice game to play every now and then and to have as a part of my little collection. It's realistic, has good graphics and scenery, a good repertoire of moves the rider can pull off if you're patient enough to learn some of them, and it's rather challenging. So, it's a decent game overall. I would say it was worth the $18 I paid for it.

Realistic and good animation
I love this game. It reminds me of the Skate franchise, where you can just cruise around doing simpler tricks and just have a good time. The controllers are a bit tricky to get used to in Infinte Air, but once you get used to them this game is truly worth the money. It's weird that this game hasn't gotten more attention than it has, to be honest. I prefer this over Steep or any other board game any day. It's no-nonsense, has cool and challenging levels and the animation of the rider is very good. Fast loading and simple menus. Do your favourite trick all the way down the course, or go BIG with some brutal spins! 10/10 would buy again!

As close as you're going to get to a SKATE for snowboarding. In a very good way!
I loved cool boarders, xgames snowboarding, amped 1 and 2, really liked stoked for xbox 360 and shaun white, while limited was still fun. This game, while insanely frustrating at first, pays off huge when you put the time into to perfecting the controls. They are weird, and at first seem kinda silly, but you'll quickly realize its very deliberate. It allows you to do some really technical stuff, and overall I think it's the closest thing to Skate for snowboarding we'll ever get.

Took me a while to try this out because everyone was saying it wasnt great. Im actually surprised with how fun it is. I like "Steep" more for just playing to have fun. But this game was really cool being able to be really technical with your line.

it's a ok game. very technical. if you have patience and time to learn the controls, it's a decent game other wise there are other boarding games that are easier to learn the controls for the less patient.

Not for whiners
This game is so much better than Steep. Keep in mind the main complaints are that the game is "too hard". Put in the time and the controls become very easy, the challenges get progressively harder as the game goes on and it is much more engaging than other games. Board designs are spot on to actual models as well. People are just mad because they dont appreciate the learning curve.

Poor game
Arrived quickly and in good condition. Nothing to complain about the company selling it m, but the game is awful! The online functionality is slow and the parks don’t load properly.

Awesome physics-based snowboarding game!
I saw some reviews saying they didn't like the gameplay of Infinite Air, but I think it's awesome once you get used to it! It steers away from the button mashing mechanics of similar games, and goes for a more realistic take on momentum and timing. This makes it more difficult to learn, but a fun challenge once you get used to it. If you like the EA Skate games, it's got a similar feel. The online part is a bit overwhelming, but if you try out a few different custom builds you can find awesome lines to run. Creating your own run is really time consuming though. I haven't tried it that often because of that, and focused more on the main challenges.Overall fun game but it definitely takes some time to work through the learning curve.

Great game
If you like EA skate games you'll love this one. The most realistic snowboarding game by far. It is also really fun to play and the game has lots of terrain to ride.

Insanely Unnecessarily complex Controls!
I like the Game detail and different modes, However, the Controls for the game are insanely and unnecessarily complex! Really I don't know what the developers were thinking, Very disappointing!! :(

Not Fun
Hard controls. Actual events are boring. Tricks take way too long to master. It took me 4 days to figure out the rotation on a back flip.Would not recommend.
